It's Quiet the £250m return

Yes, we can expect that once or 2ice a season. But not every game. Especially in a year when we were not special.

Liverpool played all these teams that parked against us but 90% of them didn't park against Liverpool.

Some of it is about our slow build up.
They also know they can't sit deep against teams like Liverpool and Arsenal as their players go down if someone farts near them and, with Liverpool especially, if they go down in or around the box it's a guaranteed free kick in a good area or a penalty.
It's better for them to press them higher up the pitch so that when they get their inevitable free kicks it's less danger to them. Whereas, when they play us they know they can hold, trip, pull and handball with impunity so it's better to sit deep so we push up leaving them more space to run into, see the FA Cup Final as an example.

So that's 3 potentially by the end of the week.

As someone who used lived in France, am I right in making the assumption you had, or continue to have an interest in French football? If you do/did, do you know if Cherki as lazy as some suggest? I have no idea as I have never watched Cherki play a full game.

No , we’ve signed or in the process of getting Reijnders, Cherki and Ait nouri for less than what Leverkusen wanted for Wirtz.

Seems like we are doing a PSG and buying a new team full of Good/great players than a single superstar player.

<cough>

We are doing a CIty. We have rarely bought Galacticos. I can't have PSG getting the credit for something we had done for over a decade.

Good to see the club carrying out swift business. Looks like we're close on two or three deals now which is exactly what we needed.

Khusanov 21
Reis 19
Nico 23
Marmoush 26
Bah 19
Cherki 22
Ait Nouri 24
Reijnders 27

That will be 8 players in two windows, and I still think we'll see another couple this summer. Average age 22.6 (based on age at start of next season), exactly what was needed.

I wasn't in France when he properly started playing for Lyon. I assumed like everyone else that his work rate was piss poor but a few people in France have assured me that that is'n't totally the case, and anyway at 21 he can be moulded. It's rare that you feel strongly a transfer won't happen and then it does. This is the first time in a while where I was convinced the stories were blag and they're not!

He said “I reckon we’ll accept about 15-25” I added “low ball offer” because that’s so low for a keeper of his calibre.

Makes sense if we can’t recoup more from Saudi as they’ll take him off our hands with his wages and he’s actively trying to leave the club and he’s got one year left. He’s been talking to his agent, trying his upmost to get one of the bigger ones in Saudi to offer.

Same with Stones too. Been floating his agent around to get him on loan somewhere or a low ball offer/free. Everton and Aston Villa have been sniffing around.
Love Johny boulders. But he's made of glass so we wouldn't miss him. And he must be high wages.

OK - but one player CAN improve the standard of those around him imo.
Good players don't act in isolation.
Rather buy the best than 3 or 4 OK players.
Opinions.
Can Wirtz make whoever is playing left or right back play better? You being happy at just buying him obviously improves us in that area but if that was our only business then we'd be having a shite season once more.

Looks like we could sign Reijnders, Alt-Nouri and Cherki for a similar amount that Wirtz will eventually go for. This would be great business by the club.
Brilliant business if the players work out. Sometimes you can add that one player(Wirtz) but city this time around need more to balance the first team.

I am glad we are looking for value in the market and not spending 100m on one player. Spending big money on a single player is no guarantee you will win anyway.

Thanks, Blue.

If I recall correctly, David Silva was questioned for his work rate prior to signing for City.
