They also know they can't sit deep against teams like Liverpool and Arsenal as their players go down if someone farts near them and, with Liverpool especially, if they go down in or around the box it's a guaranteed free kick in a good area or a penalty.Yes, we can expect that once or 2ice a season. But not every game. Especially in a year when we were not special.
Liverpool played all these teams that parked against us but 90% of them didn't park against Liverpool.
Some of it is about our slow build up.
It's better for them to press them higher up the pitch so that when they get their inevitable free kicks it's less danger to them. Whereas, when they play us they know they can hold, trip, pull and handball with impunity so it's better to sit deep so we push up leaving them more space to run into, see the FA Cup Final as an example.
