Nobody knows what the truth is. When you state that Liverpool acted first, we may have reached out to Livramento at the back end of the season. Nobody has any clue.we could have got to Livramento early in the window, now its obv shit that Isak saga happened first but we could have made our own Livramento saga and and that would have meant they find it harder to sell Isak too. now it happened the other way, Liverpool acted first and yes it leaves even less chance for them to let Livramento go. dippers probably happy if their business reduces City's chance getting Livramento...
bit like offer for Rice we knew will not be accepted then say we are no longer interested. we didnt even bid for Livramento here. I mean he was available for 35m 2 years ago, but our forward planning at that time was brutal shit by Txiki...
Time will tell. Gonzalez was having a renaissance season at Porto yet has never fully convinced since arriving, so even if Reis does well there, the demands are still going to be even greater, physically and mentally, should he return.Tbh I'm not 100% certain of how good Reis and Khusanov are, but I've no real issue with how they're being handled. So far anyway.
Our system places high demands on the defenders. Neither of the young signings have played in this kind of system before, or in a team who will dominate possession to the extent we do. Pep demands players receiving the ball correctly, moving off the ball into the correct positions and picking the right option when passing. And that's just with the ball.
No idea how good his English is, but throwing him in last season could have wrecked him, but it also meant that if our injured players didn't recover he was an option. Meanwhile he's understanding our requirements more in training.
I think a year at Porto would be brilliant for him. A good side who dominated and will play in European competition (not sure which). He'll come back looking less like a scrawny school kid and more like a man and more ready to handle the PL.
I guess the question in the meantime would be if enough of our other defenders can stay fit for a year! I'm fairly upbeat about that, if only because I can't see the injury situation being that bad 2 years running. Law of averages and all that.
I very much doubt City have asked anyone to share our interest in Livramento on their social media accounts, if we hadn't had the nod from the player & his representatives. But you're talking about Livramento as if he plays for club who are at the bottom of the table.
For Newcastle to even entertain the idea of selling Isak, it has required the player himself to push the move and effectively removing himself from the squad and forcing the club’s hand. This isn’t a side looking to offload its top talent. Newcastle are not in the business of selling their best players unless absolutely compelled.
We briefed to Romano we wanted Livramento and he put the story out on his account. There's been no movement from the players side, so there's not much more we can do. Newcastle probably don't want to sell him.
If our top picks are not available, how far down the list do we go?You can’t believe that we weren’t scouting at least 3 right backs mate?
And if still here start of season I wouldn’t be surprised to see them all start against wolves away along with gundogan..edit of course that’s if they aren’t injured..Except Ake, Stones, Akanji are all a year nearer the knackers yard than last year when they were just permacrocked.
They also said gundo was a done deal yet he is still hereSeen quite a few Galatasaray accounts in the last hour say that Ederson is a done deal, none of the City aggregators are reporting on it, so maybe not so reliable
Better than decent!!Marmoush was a decent signing.
Yeah I still think something will happen. The club obviously want Livramento. That’s obvious. Deal was always going to be extremely difficult once Newcastle secured Champions League for this season. Isak forcing his way out for what will likely be huge money only makes Newcastles need to sell even less and City bringing them to the table for Tino near impossible.
Newcastle losing Isak makes them far weaker, he’s a top top goalscorer and with the way their window is going they ain’t replacing him with anyone anywhere near his quality. Very possible they drop off, miss out on CL and Livramento becomes more realistic of a signing next year.
I back us to go with what we have now. Might and more than likely will bite us in the arse because we’re weak in that position, but rather get the player we want if a year later than some random stop gap signing that doesn’t work out and needs shifting after 12 months. The right back market in general is really sparse at the minute
Yeah Viana will get to work and shift some of the players I’m sure. There is over a MONTH left of the transfer window yet, just chill and see what happens.
Blatantly obvious we are now trying to tee up the outgoings, they’ve only been back at training a few days so will have been first opportunity to have these conversations.
Our squad might not be perfect yet, but it is well capable of handling itself.
Betinelli will be part of the squadWho have I forgotten and does this meet homegrown?
Couldn't spell his name so left him out but yes. And if we offload those two and the kid who Celtic want that makes 25. Plus Bobb 26.Betinelli will be part of the squad
Homes needed for Philipps and Kabore
And in those seasons at the back we hadWe've won a treble and 6 PL's without a Left Back.
Sad is the day when Muppets make more sense than Paniced Bedwetters!
