It's Quiet the £250m return

Wouldn't mind us Hijacking the Baleba deal just to wind them up.

I’m not fully convinced that they are really trying to sign him. I don’t think they can really afford to pay the fee Brighton want and do other business they need.

They want to be seen to be relevant and aiming for top tier players. When it doesn’t happen then they can say sorry but Brighton were unrealistic on the fee.

Maybe it’s trying to get to the top of the queue for next summer by making moves for him now but if he’s available next summer there’s going to be more suitors.

Wouldn't say that about Gonzalez and Cherki, and Rodri is not at his best yet. Bernardo can still run a lot but not with the same intensity. Gundo is 35. Don't know about Reijnders stamina wise.

A key task of the midfield in a Pep system is to make the game less open-ended, i.e., to avoid a lot of running. That's why we could win 4 in a row. Running for days is for Liverpool :)

That said, I'm excited about the season as well. But I expect a relatively slow start: the new players need time to get Pep and the league, Rodri needs time too. There's no replacement for him because he's the most influential player in the world when in form. Put him in that Madrid side instead of Mbappe last season and they compete much better than they did with Mbappe.
What put Rodri up front for Madrid they be best team in world?

Is he ,have you watched a lot of him, those who have that I have read seem to think much more chance he’s Odegaard level than not.
I have watched him every week basically since he debuted. He is talented but well overhyped. Ødegaard stood out more at 15 than Nypan did now.

I'm no scout though so I can hardly say how good he will become. I just stress that there is very little evidence of a world-class player in the making, and the most impressive thing about him is how solid he is at his young age.

I believe he can will have a good career though, and with the right loans who knows how a player develops? But currently his team around him has done a good job making him attractive for the biggest clubs. I saw him more as someone signing for a developmental club in Eredivisie or Belgium

Guardiola’s stressing of 6 centre backs was also interesting. Be worth keeping an eye on who is omitted from the squad when others are fit and who doesn’t make it off the bench in the three games.

The Rico Lewis interest from Forest makes that more interesting, could be that we basically have three centre backs with RAN as an auxiliary winger (Josko and O'Reilly can do that job as well) and then we have the option of Nunes as the auxiliary winger on the right with three centre backs.

Would pretty much put an end to the inverted full back game but with it looking likely Donnarumma is coming in perhaps looking to go more direct anyway.

I really thought the plan was to sell some of the old guard rather than the youngsters. Doesn’t seem to be going that way so far.

As long as it's young players that aren't good enough and they are replaced by real quality I don't mind it.

I'm sure 1 of Akanji, Gundogan or Kovacic will leave this summer as well.

As I heard Pep, neither Eddie nor Sav have knocked in his door, which suggests to me that both players are some way from leaving.

So the journos are getting some way ahead of themselves and printing quite a lot of bs
