It's Quiet the £250m return

Donnarumma is a great shotstopper but the whole keeper approach has been strange as fuck this summer.
Not really. Ederson and both Ortega wanted to leave. City went and got a very young player in Trafford and now a wc player in Donna.

The deals have stalled due to the players and clubs not agreeing deals.

Ederson has wanted out for a while. I don’t see the problem myself.

Still need to find moves for two of Ortega, Akanji and Gundogan otherwise we’ll have a couple of players twiddling their thumbs on champions league nights.

Ortega must be on a decent wage because otherwise I can’t fathom why no one has really moved for him.

Tim Sherwood just said Donnarumma is a good signing but if Rags sign Martinez from Villa that is a better one as he is the best keeper in the world. What a knob. Talk about trying to keep the rag fucks relevant

There isn’t one club who has won four in a row, within which was the treble. Only one other club has won the treble.

This transition could take a couple of windows, but if that is at the cost of what we’ve achieved then I’d say that’s fair dinkum. Football is cyclical but one thing is for certain, we won’t go into obscurity as if this was all just a phase in our history. We will win cups, leagues and attract players. We won’t do an Arsenal or the rags, but the transition will take time.

What it doesn’t need is fans turning on the club just because we aren’t doing the impossible and maintaining that success. There will be a change in manager soon.

You post some decent stuff mate but this post i can't agree with.

My particular liking for Manchester City isn't the club which is in effect the board it's the fans and the fans are pretty low on the clubs priorities so it seems.

There is a reason that Tim Sherwood is sat on Sky Sports News rather than on a training ground currently.

What has the treble and four in a row got to do with us buying mediocre players this summer?

No one is turning on the club by point this out.

Yeah it's impossible to win every single year but we're now looking like a team that won't even compete.
It’s got to do with the fact that maintaining that level is literally impossible. Some of the players have passed their peak, some have gone - cyclical.

Cyclical also means the so called best players may now look at Liverpool at this present moment of time. That’s how it works.

Building a squad like we are now is ensuring we will compete again when all is settled. A club cannot maintain that level of success when players reach their end and new ones come in. It takes time, but it won’t be 20 years for the best league title or CL win. It will be a couple of seasons, max.

This. It’s been gross negligence. We are shopping at the same values that most of the PL shop at…£30m here and £45m there and some wonder why we are struggling. Every now and then, you get lucky and unearth a gem but have you really gotten a good ROI, if you sign a belter at £40m but you’ve also got 5 duffers in the squad for the same price? I don’t think a team should be patting themselves on the back for picking up a Cherki at £30m for example, if you’ve spunked £150m+ on other garbage at the same time.

I hope and think that this is the case. But what worries me is just how far we've been off it in the last two games. If anything, we've looked like the City from November/December last year than the stabilised City from April/May.

I think back to when Pellegrini took over and we lost four of our first 11 games, but in three of those defeats - Sunderland, Villa and Chelsea - we played very well. Only Cardiff was a stinker. Once we worked through our teething problems, we were unstoppable. I don't get the feeling that we're close to just getting on a run of good form.

What we really need in the next few months is a spike in performance level. I'm ok with not winning anything, but we need to start playing well again. That breeds confidence and momentum. Results are of course important, but I really want to see us start to look like a team with a plan.

Martinez is a decent keeper, had a real purple patch a few years ago, is decent on penalties and is a master of sh1thousery but there’s no way he could be considered the best in the league. His performance against us last season being one of many cock ups.

Sherwood is another in a long line of Sky Sports pundits that offer no insight, no reading of the game and analysis that could be gleaned from the Sun. The likes of himself, Redknapp and Yorke are dinosaurs.

Starting with a 5-0 thrashing of the rags, during which Donnarumma saves a penalty, Haaland gets a hat trick and half the rags leave at half time.

On that, I’ll give you all a break from my positivity, put my phone on charge and watch some Sopranos for a bit ;-).

Come on City!!!

He is nowhere near Donnarumma or even Trafford.

We don't look like a Pep team at all. Watching the game yesterday, we went long , we booted the ball into the channels all the time, on transitions we were quick passing which ended in mistakes but we were trying to get into the brighton box quickly.

As soon as we won the ball we were quick on the counter no small passing triangles just booting the ball into space. Carrying the ball from deep etc

That's not Pep style at all that's more Klopp/Lijnders style. We were most dangerous not in possession but on the counter yesterday which is a complete 180 of what our style usually is.

After his comments about the squad at the weekend i genuinely believe that Pep has checked out mate! Could be with Txiki going but there is something off at the moment and his attitude is that i`ll just do what i can with what i have?

Here’s hoping, but til then, we’re only as good as our last envelope…

Can see us regretting not signing a right back or centre midfielder if we end up with anything that inhibits our ability in future transfer windows as a result of 115.

FWIW I think we'll get a fine but still. The club must have a level of confidence with Haaland's contract, January window and the spending this summer but I really can't explain why we haven't gone and strengthened especially at right back.

I think if Pep has checked out he will walk not make do.

That is why he is sat in a sky studio and not a dugout.

Knows nothing about football.

Where have we spunked 150 + million + on garbage ?
