If as he said he made his decision a while ago then he has obviously been discussing it with his wife maybe she has now come round to the idea because I believe he said she supports him. His son hearing about it now may be upsetting children don't like change but in the same interview he still said he wants to leave so a family decision must have been made.His family don't seem that convinced with the move going off the interview

I’ll have one last go at this. Family is very emotive and appeals to everyone. We can all relate to it.
Messi did not say that was the reason for staying. Quite the reverse.
He clearly states the reasons. THEN he says he was so determined to move he was prepared to upset his family.
He’s saying he feels that strongly that he was prepared to upset his family who eventually agreed.
Why pretend he is saying something else? If it was a family decision he would have said so and probably extended his contract.
That MAY change in the future with a new board but it’s CLEARLY not the situation now. He gave all the reasons extremely clearly and it was the truth.

if he was happy to stay he wouldn’t of slagged off the hierarchy at the club. He would of towed the party line and said ‘everything had been resolved and looked forward to the new season’. He has kept it in peoples heads that he’s not there through choice. It’s down to us to get involved and offer a fee. Problem is that after next season Barca isnt Bart’s problem and he won’t have to deal with the fall out. Perhaps if we sign him in January to a pre contract Barca will tell him to go on loan so they can actually focus on football instead of the messi show. That may be to adult of them tbf

I’ve just come off the phone with a long standing mate jordi from Barca he’s met me on every spike trip I’ve done to Barca he’s been a season ticket holder for 20 years his take is ....Barca have bought Koeman in as a fall guy he’ll get rid of all the top earners , jordi genuinely said and I’ll repeat genuinely said they thought city would come in with a huge offer for messi which we haven’t and now Barca are fooked by this .

Let them sweat, let Messi show up to training where the media will see him unhappy with his head down etc. Negotiate up to £80m then walk away, in Jan if he’s not joined offer £20m going up to £40m then walk away. But then I still have a doubt they’d even do business with us now, I can see PSG offering €200m and it being accepted, we’ll not match that for a 33 year old in his last year of a contract.

The interpretation about the family is wrong in my view. If he didn’t want to put his family through this ordeal he would never have spoken to city about a move in the first place. He was the one who stated that he had asked to move all season. I don’t see how this part can be missed.
It is very simply he wants to move. Barca have thrown up roadblocks and Bart seems a twat.
If we want him we need to push now and put a bid in.
I don’t buy the family or the love of Barca excuse. We know he loves them. He is smoothing out his exit.
