Irrelevant, he has had the best part of 12 months to recover, it's not going well, little improvement in fitness, form or condition.
Time to cut our losses , likable guy without doubt but a liability as a player today.

Also we don't know if there is a player in there, he's has never been fit enough to find out.
Maybe a Loan back to Monaco should we bring someone in, seems to have worked for Angelino & might push any future transfer north of £20M, a bit of a risk considering his injury record but should give him the impetus & opportunity to rediscover what he had in familiar surroundings

Agree mate, playing like he’s trying to avoid contact all the time. Nothing seems instinctive as a result. Hard to Criticise him personally given his injuries. Going to be a mangala situation in the end to move him on when we have a replacement

I can relate somewhat to Mendy in terms of the psychological damage a knee injury has.

2 years ago i severely suffered a dislocated knee, i was lucky that the bone didnt pierce the skin as the bottom half of my leg was nearly at a right angle, i was unable to walk for 4 1/2 months and then had 3 weeks physio to get back walking.

I am not a pro footballer but one thing i will say is that mentally i do not trust my knee the way i did prior to the accident. If i playing with my kids i will not run like I would have done etc because mentally i am unsure if the knee would give way again - i have lost all confidence in it.

I still suffer pain and was due to go back to the hospital for an exam prior to the pandemic - but now have to wait

So if i was a pro footballer i would be second guessing about going in for any tackle and be totally wary of how my foot was planted on the floor and body movement when twisting - this is what i have to deal with and i dont play football

If that is what has stopped Mendy from moving on, then he is finished in my book. But it isnt his fault, it is just a shit show that has ruined him at the top level

I feel really sorry for Mendy, he was amazing at Monaco and he seems like a really nice guy in the changing room, but injury after injury has ruined him. i wonder if its not just physically its ruined him but mentally. Maybe hes scared to try and make those runs which he did at Monaco as he dosent trust his knee, injuries like that would probably affect your mental badly i suppose.
I said this in his performance thread yesterday but I just don’t have it in me to slag him off and I don’t really understand people who do. He’s clearly trying, it’s not like he’s putting in Kolarov at Southampton or Yaya at Madrid performances. To me it looks like his legs are gone, he can tell he’s not performing as he should and it fucks with his head which makes him panic or lose focus at key moments.

City should start playing the younger players. If we bring new player in they should be a serious mark-up.

That's what you believe, I don't agree.

Fans maybe another 12 months before anyone can go into the stadium, the economy is tanked, don't believe everything will return to normal, things are going to change after all of this and football will need a serious reality check, not before time.

You keep going on about Messi making money for City, that's not correct, any money that he generates HE will keep, not the club, sponsors will be paying Messi's enormous wages and image rights.

He'd take a cut, we'd take a cut. Point stands still I'm afraid, you asked why we can't spend the Messi money on something else and several of us have explained why. All the best.

Agree it's not for want of trying he just doesn't quite have it. Our setup also exposes all his weaknesses.

Thank for the advice, you should call Khaldoon and explain it all to him while you at it.

We don't want a 34 yr old anywhere near our team, great teams don't do things like that.

Yesterday showed how poor and unbalanced our squad is, we have to find a proper replacement for Fern, Silva and Kun in the next window, not a time for vanity signings.

I'm being perfectly polite mate so no need to get shirty. There's little or no money for other signings either. Unfortunately it's not as simple as having a £400m bank balance.

I've explained for you as have others but I'm sure Khaldoon doesn't need it explaining.

Completely agree
