There is no evidence, either, that the player is putting any pressure on City to do anything about the fee. Citing a post from MD is utterly pointless

Kid is a class act, he'll be professional irrespective of what happens
Could be correct, but it wont alter the fact that he will never be a decent cb as long as i have got an hole in my arse !

The only way he can make sure we get a fair value is to sign a new contract, and why would he if he wants to leave?

Zaha signed a contract at Palace and is now stuck there because nobody will pay what they want for him

No one is talking of a new contract are they, since he rejected it?

City aren't asking 40-50m? They are asking a partly 20-30m....given its his last year. Given that Barça have spent stupid money, its actually insulting to offer 8m+2m.

You only need to see smug press the conference for Spain where he said, Yup i have rejected the extension and we will see what happens. Do you recall Sane saying that?? He didn't say anything and was classy.

I dont want to or need to unnecessarily hate on a talented city (as of now) kid.
He does otherwise come as polite and that's why pep picked him . There is a reason, I gave Koulibaly's example. Either pay up or move on. Don't push city to sell on an even cheaper deal, which is why I think barca gave such a pathetic offer in the 1st place, coz they might have indication from Garcia's camp (it's a logical assumption)

Wish him all the best, but don't want him to pay a single minute more!

I agree with the first part.

The second - until recently, I’d have been right behind. But the reality is, his performances have been noticeably worse since Pep announced he was off. He was shite against Arsenal, Lyon and Leicester - having been very good up til that point - and don’t think he’s behaving all that professionally anymore (and I don’t necessarily expect even a comparatively level headed kid like him to have the maturity to deal with something as frustrating as this from the off)

But that’s not City’s problem - he’s letting the situation get to him, and at the moment is a liability on the pitch.

I think Pep knows this, and left him out of the squad completely last night as a result. I’d be very surprised if he featured in any of our squads again now we’ve got Dias. He just can’t be trusted anymore.

It would make it a more interesting dynamic if a Borussia Dortmund type club came along and offered £25 million and we accepted. I appreciate he wants to go ”home” but if they aren’t prepared to pay...

Might force a hand.

Either way, agree with the sensible majority. Good luck to him. But him and his horrible shit house club have dicked us over. Minimum he shouldn’t be getting anywhere near our first team under these circumstances.

He will not likely feature now that City have considerable depth at CB, no logic to play a player who wants to leave as a result

No idea how his performances were noticably worse since Pep announced he was off when we already know the 1st half against Leicester he was arguably the best player on the pitch.
