I think what we would have to pay him, and pressure from sponsors would mean he would have to play most of the time.

And I also think we are too big of a club to have players, however great they were, winding down their career's in our team.

Juve and Ronaldo, big gamble by Juve to bring him in and win the Champions League and it's failed. Now Ronaldo's crazy contract is killing Juve. I also think Ronaldo in terms of condition/fitness is well ahead of Messi.

I agree with what your saying and fitness and age is my point.
Not a chance he will come to England and play 50+ games.
I'm pretty sure sponsors etc will know that.

I kind of feel if this had happened a year or two ago we would have been in a better place lol. Now we're kind of in a mess too. Not as bad as Barca but still.

We are in a mess? I’ve supported City since 1976 and I really wouldn’t categorise the present situation as a mess. Won the League Cup, semis of the FA Cup, Quarters of the CL and runners up in the League. How long did we go without winning a trophy. We need a few tweaks but we still have the best squads in the league. If we had Ball, Clarke or Pearce at the helm and not a pot to piss in that would be a mess.

The main reasons we lost 9 were a combination of some dross defending but more importantly not scoring from the shedloads of chances and possession we created in pretty well all of those games

Southampton away is a good example - made and missed enough clear cut chances to score 5 even on a wasteful day... how we conspired not to score at all beggars belief. All of that wastefulness was combined with a defensive mistake of epic proportions that cost us yet another defeat. Individual errors have crept into the side as the squads concentration and focus have dropped off badly this year.

Why would we want Messi ? After all,Pep left 3 playmakers on the bench against Lyon.

Tbh, I think if we signed Messi (which we won't) he would be an out & out forward & goalscorer.

I would look at our strikers as being Aguero, Jesus & Messi, but because Messi is different, we could get away with playing 2 if we wished.

Think it would be easier to play Jesus and Messi, than Aguero and Messi. Argentina have tried and it hasn't really worked. I think Messi as a false 9 with Jesus on the left Sterling right would be perfect.

Yep thing with pep is when over thinking and looking at stats of players he looks at he looks at the stat that players give the ball away and in there champs games he feels we will be punished more what i find weird he should look at the energy the likes of Foden and B Silva would give the team which would worry the oppositions more. Pep in champs league last half dozen years has been piss poor with the squads he has had.
