His age is an issue for me, those legs have lots of miles in them, and our tactics rely on the high press. His wages could also be an issue if the rest of the team find out he’s being paid a lot more than them, not good for team bonding. Who misses out of the starting line up if he comes? Messi is a Barcelona icon and should finish his career there imo.

Id be gutted about Bernardo - I for one would be willing to py more upfront and keep Bernardo - he is a special player and we could have another 10 yrs out of him and he is capable of becoming a premiership legend imho.

Definitely don't want to lose Bernardo as part of a Messi deal, but I think Barca would possibly want him included plus cash.

I see everyone's objections RE messi, and I raise Finishing. Man doesn't miss. Even if we dont get some of the benefits of prime Messi we'd still get the best finisher of all time. With the amount of chances City create and miss I think it would be a guaranteed title.

Any news on outgoings?

A lot of players that we are looking to move Otamendi, Stones, Zinchenko, Garcia, Angelino. Nearly all being linked somewhere but not much movement.

A Leeds ST holder has just told me here in the pub that apparently they want Stones if Brighton won’t sell them Ben White. Not sure they could afford his wages but he’s a Yorkshire lad and he’d be the main man there. He's also locked in a child access battle so maybe staying round here would suit him

As long as we still get our original, long term signings good, but it's a hell of a risk in the present climate, and also, if we were to sign him and not able to witness watching Lionel Messi in the flesh in sky blue at the Etihad , it would be heartbreaking.

I still feel Messi will always be thought of as a Barca Icon, whatever he would achieve with us.

Nice to see some type of positivity there well done keep it up. Once your start being a bit more positive it starts to come a bit easier.
