How does it get the stage where Lionel Messi and Barcelona are arguing with each other over the fine print of a contract? Its a sorry state of affairs no matter who is right or wrong. Look at what Khaldoon said regarding the departures of Kompany and Silva and what will happen with Aguero. Chalk and cheese.
Agree 100% - the problem that the Barca board have now (amongst a long list of problems) is that they are basically skint and have a valuable asset just walking away...

A difference. We were quite happy to let them go. Silva not a guaranteed starter. And VK injury prone and fading.

Messi is probably still the best player in the world. I agree it's very mean spirited to treat him this way. But his market value is way higher than DS, Kun and VK combined. They are also in financial trouble.

Yeah but Messi isn't "out of contract" so it doesn't matter... he's contracted till next year so the only question is how the "get out of jail free" clause is worded and if Messi's camp are correct about it or not?

You miss my point. Those players being forced to extend until the end of the actual season is a legal acknowledgement that the season had not yet ended (thus Messi is correct)
