I think that’s the fella, I knew he was named after some suburbDaniel Timperley? Very very strange fellow. But from Mossley so explains a lot.
Also claimed Harry Kane was on his way iirc

any news on Johnny Evans?
I don't think that's clear. Webster ruing applies to players who signed a contract before the age of 28 (wiki).Messi buys himself out of the contract if the court rules against him. Otherwise he walks for free.
It’s not like City fans haven’t seen the media getting in legal ‘experts’ to paint a worst case scenario for our club in recent months, is it?I don't know why any lawyer worth their salt would go on record deciding who they think would win in a dispute over a contract and a clause in that contract they have never seen.
Also anyone who thinks City are risking paying the full €700m clause can be ignored immediately, they're clueless.
I do agree with him that Messi would think twice about the legal situation before forcing a move. He'd probably consult lawyers who've seen the contract and speak to UEFA and FIFA who validate the contract before handing in a transfer request.
While we’re going for OAP’s what about Roberto Carlos? ; )Wouldn't mind a quality left back tbh.
Mate, it’s fucking Ben Rumsby...Telegraph football 'back page' is worth reading. Available on BBC gossip.
Contains comments from a sports lawyer who says that in a dispute over the terms of the contract, CAS would likely favour Barcelona.
Seems to me that although City maybe able to agree terms with Messi it will come down to whether City can agree a fee with barcelona because it would be too high risk to try and force through a free transfer.
You would think that before a transfer is verified, FIFA would have to clear it and establish who has registration of the player rather than let it a dispute escalate.I don't know why any lawyer worth their salt would go on record deciding who they think would win in a dispute over a contract and a clause in that contract they have never seen. He says the "literal" version would win...but if we learned anything from the CAS debacle it's that legal language is not always black and white.

He references a sports lawyer who should be an expert. We know nothing is black and white and different interpretations can exist but that's a problem. We could do without uncertainty. I am sure City will check this out because Tebas will exploit any opportunity he can to nail us. We can't afford any risks.Mate, it’s fucking Ben Rumsby...

Barcelona's ex-President (Gaspart) says messi can't leave for 'free' although he would say that.
