Barto telling Messi to respect his contract in terms of 700m release clause and then asking Messi whether he can bail on his contractual obligation of paying the agreed salary. Can't make it up.

So Barca are going to insist on a player observing the absolute detail of a contract but simultaneously asking the said player to vary the terms of that same contract! Nearly as mad as watching the UK Justice Minister say he’s planning to break International Law! We live in mad times ! !

Barto's legacy is already trashed he probably will let Messi walk on a free so in his own head he believes he ruined another year of the greatest players career as some sort of stand against Messi going against him.

Barto’s real issue just now is Barca’s financials going down the pan at a rate of knots that could see him liable for repaying a considerable sum... in that context we might see a few personal differences set aside !

You would think so, he has very few assets who he could sell. Its baffling he seemingly won't negotiate for Messi.

It looks like Koeman has found a place for Greiz, Dembele and Coutinho so none of them will go it looks like.

Bartomeu will ask Messi to lower his salary in his first face to face meeting

If Messi agrees to that he'd be an idiot.

Possibly a further part of the whole ludicrous propaganda war being fought over there. If Messi says no Bartomeu can say "I had to sell him for the good of the club" but Messi looks like the bad guy.

Bartomeu isn't willing to deal. He could point to the equally ludicrous €600m release clause.

Not surprised, this is coming from the club that want to do this to their third highest goal scorer

Hilarious.

Barça is doing exactly what FCBarça was accusing PSG to do. PSG was a "gulag" masquerading as a club, corrupted by the non existent moral standards of their enslaving owners.

I can't take him seriously if he still says he is fan of this "gulag" after all his patronising talk.

And it comes from one of their "good" sources.

I love it !

Spot on!

Are the rumours about Jose Gimenez from Atletico true, anyone ITK?

I honestly don’t give a shit anymore if we sign Koulibaly, Upamecano or Gimenez, just one of them and fast.

None of the CB’s we are after convince me. I’d like Upemacano as he looks a great prospect, otherwise I’d probably take the lad Soyoncu from Leics.

I am feeling more and more confident that we're not signing a centerback (let alone him actually landing and playing) before the wolves match

Can only assume we are putting all of our efforts into the miniscule chance of signing Messi which is why we haven't addressed any of the major problems we have with our season starting in less than a week and players seemingly disillusioned with Pep

Oh well, it was good whilst it lasted. Relegation oblivion in 2025 by the sounds of it......
