Scored twice v Everton in the 1981 cup runThe only memory I have of Bobby Mac is him going in net one game? Not sure if that happened as I reckon I would’ve been 4 or 5 at the time?
He definitely went in goal at Maine Road one game, I was in the kippax, was to young to do aways on my own, was only a kid.
It was Watford I was in the platt lane, we won 1-0, corrigan got injured about 10 mins inI think it was Watford at home and they were top or near the top at the time (early in the season if I remember correctly). My memory may be playing tricks on me but it seemed like he was in goal for a fair chunk of the game as well and made a couple of decent stops. I think we won in the end as well.
Wager you didn’t think that on the 23rd September 1989. ;-)He’s soured his reputation with us since he left. That aside, each to their own mate, but I thought as a player he was absolutely average.
At the far post!Wager you didn’t think that on the 23rd September 1989. ;-)
“That’s just marvelous!”At the far post!
Clichy was better than Kolarov. He was awesome in our first PL win.
Kolarov was/is a better player. If he had played for us during our relegation battle or mid table mediocrity days, he would have stood out as one of our best players. Kolarov was a very good player, who gave his absolute all for us. Unfortunately every generation needs a boo boy and some of our idiotic fans decided to take it out on Kolarov, even though they had never had it so good.
I remember very early on Bobby Mac started to run around the area with the ball in his hand, instead of giving a free kick (the 3 steps rule had come in at the start of the season) the ref did a policeman 'stop' impersonation. It was newly promoted Watford at home early season. Corrigan knocked out after diving at someone’s feet. Bobby Mac kept a clean sheet and we won 1-0.
Walsall away was Gleghorn I think, also Palace at home same season

We are letting our greatest left back or potential greatest LB Angelino leave the club.
TBF the quiet thread over the years has never been a serious thread, unless you take music videos and dissection of them seriously. Can all of you who want to reminisce about times gone by do the majority of this forum a favour and take your conversation elsewhere.
Seriously, you are slowly choking this thread and making it useless.
Mods, please can you intervene
Not clarkied at all. This thread is about transfers, often with humour, but nonetheless, transfers.TBF the quiet thread over the years has never been a serious thread, unless you take music videos and dissection of them seriously.
If you want 'proper' discussion try one of the threads named by players names, general rumours etc.
Or have I been clarkied?
Can’t believe no one has mentioned Ben Thatcher!! You couldon’t say he wasn’t following his manager’s instructions to “get stuck in!!”

Never a big Kolarov fan but he was better than the current versions of Mendy and Zinchenko. It's not even close, tbh,
We have struggled for LBs for years. It's a bloody curse, I tell thee.
