Wonder what the clause actually says. If it's x number of days after the finish of Barca's season to activate the clause then he looks on steady ground. If it's written as June 10th then surely it would go to Court, with Messi arguing due to covid that date is no longer valid. I'm sure lawyers would have looked at it though.

If the clause has been triggered then technically Messi is a free agent as of NOW (he may choose to retire you never know!)

Apparently the board have to balance the books before they resign, or they can be held personally liable.

They're a long way from balancing the books at present. I guess taking £1.2m a week off the books could help..

I saw something where they would have to pay around €400m out of their own pockets before they could resign, and Bartomeu isn't going to do that
