The contact from the original tip off heard this week that Messi's dad remains in touch with us and he doesn't think it is settled yet.

God forbid you’ve ever had an idea to do something (I know it’s kind of unlikely, but bear with me) and It didn’t quite work out as you’d have liked.

Seems like we are Sleepwalking into another shit season. Fiddling while Rome burns.
Points at the start of the season are worth just as much as points at the end. We are in danger of being seriously undercooked for Wolves and Leicester while the usual suspects will still insist Stones and Garcia ‘just need time’.
None of the blatantly obvious problems are being addressed. Four years into Guardiola’s tenure as manager and the same old flaws remain. Centre back replacement for Vinnie and an even vaguely competent left back neglected for square pegs in round holes who are ‘versatile’ and can ‘do a job’ there.
All our rivals for the Champions League have specialists in those positions. FFS. Even fucking Southampton, Burnley and Leeds have specialists in those positions.
To not have a left back worthy of the name after, what, seven or eight years in the job is gross incompetence on the part of Begiristain. Even the happiest of clappers must accept that.
Meanwhile there is a Captain Ahab-style doomed pursuit of the Barcelona of a 10/15 years ago. The ghost of what Messi used to be and a Poundland Busquets who turns slower than milk protecting a depressingly ropey defence. Gundogan present at every failure and every big game, just to twist the knife.
Garcia is short and slow as a man in diving boits filled with cowshit - and even he wants to leave. But his agent is Pep and Txiki’s Catalan mate so lets keep developing a lad for Barcelona rather than fucking him off and developing a lad for City instead. Defend that one, Clappers.
We need to drop the Barcelona obsession and develop this club in its own right. We need to defend and promote our own identity not be content to be a second hand tribute act.
We should be seeking to be the very best at everything, on and off the field. And if that means telling a few sacred cows that the best of everything doesn’t necessarily come from Catalonia then fuck them

I like it when the board looks at the bright side. Great short term memory, what we have is a brilliant squad which is very very hard to improve as the quality is so high.

It’s not easy, it’s not even easy buying right now as no one knows the value of players currently and I THINK Chelsea are winging it financially currently and may find a problem coming up next year for them with FFP.

I know not everyone is happy with this window but we have brought in 2 high quality signings and I seem to remember the statement a couple of years ago that we would only be bringing in one or two high cost signings per year from now on and bringing some youth through - granted we tried that with Garcia and he is leaving but you can’t win them all.

Anything on top of what we have now is a bonus, and I think we will have one defender by all accounts (one of three options we are talking to) and the longest shot off al in Messi.

I’m still in the camp that’s nervous until we get 40 points so I’m just enjoying the ride and waiting for the time we can get back to watching this lot from the stands.
