Cancelo played well against Norwich? 60m on a player who had a couple of decent games at the back end of the season against crap teams, and all our problems are solved !!! LOL
Laughable isn’t he. Especially given he played there ahead of a £50m left back who through injury or whatever can’t cement that position as his own.

See above but I don’t think we are done in the transfer market so it’s moot for me.

I hear you on Laporte and likewise, I'm confident we'll sign a centre back too. We have budget and options. Koulibaly's clearly number 1 but Kounde, Gimenez would be excellent too.

We always seem to get one big injury while the scousers haven't had one in 3 years, almost suspiciously so.

I think how many goals we score is miss leading. If we won every game 1-0 we win the league. The fact we hammer some teams shouldn’t disguise that we lost 9 games. I don’t see what has happened transfer wise to stop us losing those 9.

The "we only conceded 2 more than LFC" argument is also misleading.
By the time the title was officially over we had conceded 12 more than them (57% of their total at the time - and 43% of our total for the entire 18/19 season). They clearly weren't fully at it after the title was won.

If Laporte stays fit our backline is obviously stronger this season. And Ake can't be worse than last season's Ota even if playing RCB doesn't suit him. Still, we need more and it's annoying it's not done before the first game against a tough opponent in a season we need to start well in. Laporte being out is just compounds the frustration

Cancelo was a luxury but exciting signing, the reality was a poor player, questionable attitude, reasonable going forward but can't defend.

Yet he played well against Norwich so will be our leader this season, amazing some peoples opinions on here!!

Pep looked like a deflated balloon in that presser. Our transfer business this summer started out great but has fizzled out while our rivals have lined up 2 big signings just before KO.

Laporte staying fit would help more than any signing can.

But but David Silva was part of the problem and Jesus is stepping up this year also Ake can play left back and Cancelo played well against Norwich. Rodri will find 5 yards of pace from somewhere and actually Gundogan is better than Thiago. Sane never played and so we didn’t miss him either. Oh and we have Garcia for one more year before he goes to Barca so we are gonna be fine at the back. Apparently
Besides we used to be shit over a decade ago so you’re not allowed to moan about any of these things. Why do you all just want shiny new toys?

This window has been an absolute disaster!

last season we were 18 points off liverpool, knocked Out of the champions league by lyon, beaten but arsenal in the FA cup...

since then we have lost david silva and Leroy sane and signed two players that let’s be honest will do the job but are not going to be world beaters by any stretch of the imagination!

we still have otamendi and stones at the club and have really messed up the signing of koulibaly due to personal pride issues!

Liverpool have strengthened massively with the single signing of Thiago!

pep will be leaving next summer and we are going to be in an even more dyer situation than we are now

I want to continue winning titles, dominating the Premier league.

Like it or not the scousers have got together a great side and the others are starting to rebuild, especially Chelsea, we are stagnating and in many ways going backwards.

We used to get our transfer business done early, get the players settled and ready before the start of the season

We now spend all summer negotiating for our major targets and the negotiations fail, why is that? what's the change?

Nothing to do with wanting shiny new things, it's wanting to keep improving, to keep winning.

And looking at our manager in his first press conference of the season, does not fill anyone with confidence!
