So he can go back in 2 years when the cules call? We are not a Barca feeder club. Buy no more from them well apart from messi obv.

He'd sign a 6 year contract so if he wants to go back in 2 years they can pay €160m+

I hope fans aren't going to be so stupid as to object to signing players from one of the best academies in the world because 1 decided he wouldn't sign a new contract.

I hope Txiki and Pep learn these barca kids always want to go back.... But saying that.. He has been basically told to fk off from barca despite there being issues there.... So if he signs... Hope we tie him to a long term contract

I'll object because most they let us have, are weak & no good.

If they want to send us a decent one, brilliant.

Leaving the negativity vs positivity debate aside, what are your thoughts on the long term replacement for Aguero?
The bar set by him has been so high that I think only 2 guys - Haaland and Felix will be able to match the hype. Personally, I would love to see Haaland but was distraught to see so many people calling it a 'dream' or 'unrealistic' over here and on Twitter. Heard that Torres can cross the ball well and I would love to see some headed goals. The best part is he's a blue and has been on City supporter pages until people figured out it was him.
This is going to become a big issue inside 12 months. I really like Jesus but so far he has excelled more as a 2nd striker than as no. 9 down the middle, leading the line. With KDB, Mendy, and possibly Torres are traditonal centre-forward like Kane could get 40 goals a season. I mention him because I think he might move soon but he has ankle problems.

Every season City spend an average of £80m on players. The finance must be there. We have the highest revenues in English football. We have no debt. We have a very wealthy owner.

The suggestion that Manchester City can not afford to replace Kompany does not stand up.

I am not suggesting we cannot afford to replace Kompany, I suggested we possibly cannot afford the numbers the selling clubs want, or we don't see the value in them.

Pretty sure we do carry debt (albeit not on the scale of some of our rivals), and we made a minimal profit as per the last set of accounts (CFG made a loss). The wealth of our owner does not have the impact it once did in this FFP world, other than we are lucky in that he appears not to be interested in taking money out of the club via dividends (again unlike other club owners).

I stand to be corrected, but I think the last time he put money in directly to help with a transfer was with Laporte?

This is only my reading of the situation, I absolutely accept it could be wrong as I have no knowledge of what our current finances look like.

At the moment I would disagree. Let someone else train them. If The club can get the player on a 6 year deal plus a buy back clause inserted...maybe.

Barca fans are not happy about this, class player would fit in well, Garcia swap seems too obvious to me

We're not an apex predator, never have been. We're a mid level creature that tries to get by living off things apex predators don't want, then if they challenge us for it we get beaten to it comfortably. Must be 16/17 when we last went toe to toe competitively in the transfer market with a rival and won. Since then we only strike if we can get in and out before anyone else gets to the table or pick off the scraps nobody else wants.
Laughable shite.

If only we'd gone toe to toe with with the scum, eh? Then we'd have signed Sanchez and Slabhead and we'd be scraping 4th place instead of winning numerous trophies.

I'm just hoping Wolves are as shit as they were in Europe & we get 3 points, however we do it.

The problem is that Wolves play in the exact way that causes problems to our defenders. Strong in the air and got a speed merchant to toy with whichever slug we have at RCB starting that game.
