I'm with you, we'd be mad to get rid of Laporte. The big reason we did so well last season was because of our strength at CB. Losing Laporte severely weakens our options and it only takes an injury to Dias or Stones and we're short again. We don't want a repeat of the 19/20 season where we're having to shoehorn Fernandinho into the back 4 due to injuries and a shortage of options.
He just needs to dig in and force his way back in. A good Euros with Spain and a good pre season and he could easily be 1st choice next season.
I just don't see Laporte leaving without a replacement lined up which seems pointless.
