I’d imagine it’ll be someone left field and prob from the second tier. Those 3 are pretty much the hottest property available this summer (if they actually are) and we don’t seem to sign the top tier hottest takes.

I know what you mean - I could see Isak, Andre Silva, Lautaro Martinez or maybe even Jovic by our usual template.

But I do think we'll go big money on the Aguero replacement. So Haaland, Kane and Lukaku on the table.

We don’t seem to sign what’s considered the ‘best out there’ though. Why would we change our signing strategy on the back of a winning season?

Just got to a CL final, Pep signed a new contract and we have lost Sergio. Sergio being here always meant that any other striker would be number 2.

City may feel we are now a Kane, Haaland or Lukaku away from winning that CL. The money is clearly there and has been for a while. We simply cannot afford to let anyone catch up.

The point is I don’t think he would score 40 goals a season.

You’ve plucked 40 out of thin air, Kane is levels above Lukaku and I don’t think Kane would reach 40 with us.

I won't. He's a good goal scorer. He would do a good job here with a better team around him.
