We’d look pretty stupid if we offered a play, sorted the deal out just for the player to turn round and say, me ? to Spurs ? are you having a laugh, fuck that.

There is absolutely no point in waging war on journos who get paid to chat this sort of nonsense unfortunately. Silence has always been our best weapon and we deal with things head on only when it gets to a certain point re; UEFA case.

On top of that we supposedly briefed a journalist of our plan too. So we are asked to believe that City did all of the above, without talking to Raheem AND compounded it all by telling a journalist or two along the way.

I think the vast majority of our support recognise he is a bloody good player. However, I think its widely recognised he was off the boil over the last season.

The problem we have, is that many people think these players are robots.

They're not. They're just like the rest of us, and maybe start-stop-start nature of the last couple of seasons took its toll on Sterling mentally?

Hopefully after the Euros and a bit of rest, he'll be back firing once again.
