It’s down to tactical tweaks - like when Gundo’s pushed up and scores loads and people start saying he’s suddenly got very good but the fact is that it’s the product of a tactical tweak, he’s the same excellent player whatever his role but put in a role where he’s scoring and the girls who were throwing scorn at him suddenly go weak at the knees.

Big difference in performance consistency from Gundo to Cancelo.

Gundo is a class act and incredibly consistent.

I don’t mean to hijack this thread but this is bullshit. He makes all those over lapping runs , drags players out of position and no one gets on the end of his crosses .

I'm currently away, so not really looped in, but just to say City and Villa were talking late last night and it sounds like we might be almost be there on the fee and structure for Grealish.

Maybe a matter of hours, rather than days.

I wonder if negotiations on the fee mean that there isn't a release clause?

Of course, they're not quite legally mandatory/enforceable in the same way as in Spain, nor would we ideally like to pay it all upfront. I could see us agreeing to pay slightly more over a longer period of time?

It could be more about the structure of how it is paid ie the size of the instalments and the duration of the payments

Apparently inside the club there’s little indication of a deal happening this week. Obviously could change like with all these things but for the moment all is quiet. Patience is a virtue we’ll all need for the next few weeks!
