It’s not possible to fix them all this window with FFP. Looks like we have prioritised Jack & Harry.

Lb and Dm will have to wait.
Might just be me but improving from the back is much more important, stability in the backline helps a lot, once that's accomplished we automatically are at ease attacking and can make it work, last season probably a good example. But just because it worked last season, doesn't mean it will this time. Obvious we'll have to wait but I would have liked for that to be addressed this window. We cannot be having a squad of such immense quality but still have glaring holes at left back, and reliant on a 36 year old Fernandinho.

I was a bit surprised Bernardo did not get a single minute of gametime yesterday.
Must be on his way, along with Laporte.

If we get Kane as well as Grealish then that’s an superb window. We still need to solve LB long term and CDM, but assume that’s for the future, can’t have it all despite any fees received - time to see if Rodri will mature into the role or EDS promotion.

Thought yesterday the problem was shape and unfamiliarity, still can’t work out Gundos position yesterday. Fern knackered because of the recovery runs after Mendy lost the ball, but with Sterling and Grealish on the left there should’ve been some protection. Time and training sessions will sort that. Ake is a back up player. But add KDB, Zin, Stones and Walker & the speed and dynamic changes. And that’s a reason not to flap and panic. We are a fucking good team.

But having a proper centre forward transforms yesterday - space, positioning would all be different and then less pressure on the CM area. Thought the team knew they had to score the first goal, but like against Chelsea and got ragged when it didn’t happen. Think Fern is a dressing room rather than on the pitch captain.

So got to get the deal sorted for Kane.and if we get a combined 90m for Bernardo and Laporte and get their wages off the sheet then that’s good business.

What a mistake it would be to let Laporte go and keep Ake.
One wants to go and one doesn't. You cannot force players to accept a squad role, it has to come from within as an acceptance that it is for the greater good. Good player though he is, he is not better than Dias or Stones, in my view.

I’m just hoping that a better left back would help Ake out. The game is all about opinions, but I think we would have been fine yesterday with Stones and Zinchenko playing. I hate slagging off City players but I can’t stand back on Mendy any more. I hope that’s the last time he pulls on a Sky Blue shirt unless he gets a move to Napoli or Lazio.
We bossed the opening 10 minutes but Spurs took encouragement from Mendy constantly giving the ball away and they crept into it. We lost it on our left sided defence yesterday, not the striker position.

It’s not about forcing, it’s about not making it easy for him to leave unless someone pays exactly what we value him. If he stays, he will play same as ever. Like when Messi wanted to leave Barcelona, stayed and delivered a Ballon D’Or worthy season, or when Neymar wanted to leave PSG, and so many other examples...

In some things, he is better than Stones and Dias, but he’s certainly better than Ake as a whole
