No we don’t. We were filling last year and only put in a squad of 21 when we could have put in 25. We maxed out on foreign players but could have had another 4 association or club trained players - so this is just pure misinformation from somewhere.

It is not misinformation. A typical club quota is 17+4+4 in terms of foreign, homegrown and club trained. And yes, I know those are colloquial terms but thats what the majority go by.

The 4 club trained slots arent interchangable. U can have more than 4 of either, but then they take up one of the 17.

Last year we had 16+5+1

This year with Aguero leaving and Grealish joining we have 15+6+1. The result is still the same, we are at capacity for two categories, the one we have space in can only he taken up by club trained players. So anyone else coming that isnt feom the academy, regardless of nationality and age, can't take up a squad space unless someone leaves, or is omitted from the registered list.

As far as I know, there is also a rule that a club has to have 3 keepers registered for the CL, so if there is an academy player eligible for the B list, and presumably good enough, Carson can be omitted. If there isn't, he can't, as I understand it, even if the club want to. I am nit as sure on this last one as I am on the others above, but I do think that is the case.

Either way, we are at one in one out, or one in one omitted.

Obviously like him, but sounds like the usual leverage from Txiki. Find out the target of the club you wish to buy from.

Today is a big day from what I am being told. We will find out soon enough if the next breaking news is Dusan!!

Without compromising anybody, Kane has been told to trust the people that matter.

Whatever the hell that means to him!

Yes, yes, yes...but what about Messi?

We’ve known about replacing Aguero for over a year now. One week to go and it’s looking like no one is coming in. Terrible

A maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There are a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players'. If a club have fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

What's a 'locally trained player'?

There are two categories:
1. Club-trained players – players who were on a club's books for three years between the ages of 15 and 21;

2. Association-trained players – players who were on another club's books in the same association for three years between the ages of 15 and 21. No club can have more than four association-trained players among their eight 'local' nominees on List A.

It’s two keepers minimum and we can have up to 25 players, last year we had 21 players registered in the A list for champions league squad - so no it isn’t one in one out.

Our problem last year was that we couldn’t fill the maximum of 8 locally trained players - Kane is an addition to that number so we are ok.

Imagine this is done but it does seem ridiculous that he's training with Spurs rather than us. As many have said we've known Kun was leaving for over a year.

It very much is. Fyi, I'm not trying to have a spat or anything, it is well intended pointing out.

The 4 spaces as per your category 1, don't need filled. You can register less. Same with your category 2, but once you fill the 4, all other association trained take up one of the 17.

We have filled our 17 with 15 and 2 from category 2. And our 4 association trained. We can't fut any more to either of those. We can fit in club trained, but only from our own academy.

So while we can, and have done, and will again, register a smaller squad, we can't register anyone else that isn't from your category 1. As the other two are at maximum capacity. This one in one out/omitted.

The issue to a smaller squad is we do not have enough club trained players.
