The only thing City could do now is just think fuck it and bid for Kane. However it would have to be a daft bid like 170 m. Which would be ridiculous.

Even Dzeko would have been a short term fix but he’s now at Inter.

No matter how you can dress the Grealish transfer, city have fucked up this summer.

We should have tried harder with Messi, kept well clear of Ronaldo and should have respected Spurs a little more with the Kane transfer.

We can’t continue to be this arrogant with clubs with our lack of communication when we are after their star players.

it's 850,000 a week not 850,000,000 :-)
it's not fact, guessing only a few people know the truth but this is apparently why Chelsea walked away as it was looking like 175m for transfer, 20m to Alfie, 39m to Raiola(?) and then 52m in wages per season
Yes sorry, I meant to put a k not m. There was a report in Goal regarding the £850k per week (£43m per year), & it seems other publications ran with that figure.

Since March 2021, there's been estimated wage demands of anything from £300k per week, up to £1m per week, but I suppose the truth will be somewhere in between eventually.

Dependent on how things fare this season with Torres in particular, Delap & Jesus, unless there's another young budding superstar in the offing somewhere, can City really afford not to be in the mix for Haaland?

We want to be considered as one of the world's heavyweight giants of football. At some point, we're gonna have to start acting like one, & break our structure. The only problem then is our other elite players on £350k per week could be looking at a Haaland & thinking "Of he's on £650k per week, I want the same."

Then all of a sudden our financial structure is buggered, & we'll find ourselves in a Barca/Juve/Real sized hole before too long....
