To be fair if we did sign him I doubt it would be with a view to playing him against the top 6, he’d be very much second choice.

Bertrand isnt great,but he's a Prem left back and a good squad option,he's also better than current Mendy.
Specifically,and fundamentally,he might allow us the opportunity of waiting for the right player,i think that's how such a signing would be viewed.
