It's Quiet Thread 15 - Txiki Blinders

Somehow getting less and less confident about Bernardo. The Grealish transfer would have make sense if he leaves. Don't really see much space otherwise.

If CFC's 'interest' in Haaland is real, then they have huge monies to throw around. I was half-thinking they might be quiet given that they spent £0.2 B last Summer. Difficult as usual to distinguish between fact and fiction in newspaper reports.

City picked up last season when we brought Foden and Bernardo into the side. KDB was sluggish at the start of the season. It would be high risk to let Bernardo go unless Grealish comes in.

They just won the UCL; this is when you spend big to consolidate and grow.

If Bernardo really wants out and Atletico are proposing a swap deal, then we should be asking for Joao Felix instead of Saul imo.
Bernardo for Saul is stupid on every level, totally unacceptable. If he wants out, fine, but that’s not the deal we should be making

Bernardo was getting a lot of games on the right of the midfield as we would play gundo kev and bernie in the false 9 system. Next season we will have a striker, so one has to drop, Bernardo plays his best football without de bruyne, and there’s no way he’s going anywhere. If Bernardo wants to leave good luck to him, as I can’t see him getting as much football for us next year if he were to stay

Thing is with Chelsea, they can generate a huge amount of money by selling their fringe/loan players this summer - probably to the tune of £150m, that will finance Haaland alone, never mind the money that Abramovich will throw into their budget too

Negotiate to pay the difference

Why?

Felix isn't worth the fee they'd demand. That's the basic problem, he's not worth whatever Atletico would demand for him.

Also why do we want him? We're not going to buy him + Kane/Haaland, and he's not the out and out striker we seem to want.

We should be asking £80m for Bernardo even if he wants to leave was arguably best player in Europe 2 seasons ago and a key player again this season, be very sad to see him go. Probably my favourite player.

Really don’t see Atletico having thay kind of cash after Covid

We need a DM so maybe Saul makes sense, we are probably going to miss Bernardo in the middle more than out wide if Torress kicks on as expected in his second season.

May run abit like this

Kane
Budget HG leftback
If Laporte leaves get Pau Torres
If Bernardo leaves get Saul
If Mahrez or Sterling leaves get Grealish
If Jesus goes, Ings
