Some posters think he’s god? Really?

Just because people enjoy his posts and find them entertaining does not mean we build Temples or worship images.

At the absolute worst (which I don’t think is the case), Tolmie posts made up information in an entertaining way as opposed to 99.99% of the sports media who post made up information with no entertainment and in many cases insult the intelligence of the reader.

Take the idiots who said we offered Spurs £100 million to Spurs plus a choice of up to six players. Tolmie managed to eloquently put into words what most of us were thinking. How do you go about offering players without their agreement? Have we got six players willing to take a pay cut and be a makeweight in a Kane deal? It’s bollocks.

Sorry if appreciating his posts makes you somehow feel inadequate to the point you feel the need to accuse me and others of worship. Seeking those social media dopamine hits can lead to jealousy.

Sadly, it would appear some people are even offended when I respectfully respond to questions or try to offer a 'supposed' insight with my own opinion?

Even sadder, after all these years of mistakenly made myself a target, I'd wager if I wasn't posting, the same sad sections of our fan base who do inhabit this forum, would still be pissing and whinging about something.

Perhaps the forum is starting to evidence a generational shift - I'll try harder to find some shite without lyrics or which talks about splitting up with their partner, ad nauseam.

I think the issue (although not an issue) isn’t with Tolmie but how some posters expect him to know information that even the club would not know at that point or more then just the clubs understanding of a situation.

Take the Alves or Laporte transfer (first time round), all his information could be reliable that they are signing but it didn’t happen due to other factors. I have been on a long time and seen him indicate transfers would be happening that have not. Although my understanding this is common in football.

If I’m not mistaking he got quite excited by Pogba coming to City and also maintained Isco was when all media where saying Real. I’m sure there are plenty he has got right and his information could be Pogba agreed personnel terms with City, which could well have been true (I fully expect Mino would have offered him around to create an auction).


I think if your on the forum expecting to get some inside track (your probably going to be a bit disappointed), if your on for a bit of entertainment and possibly a snippet of information here and there, then it’s fine.

For me, Tolmie is an obvious City fan who is supporter, more knowledgeable then most and does get a bit more info then most.

He certainly adds a lot to the forum, much more then myself and don’t get why anyone gets upset.

I also think with the 24 hour news cycle and transfers being such big news. They are in the media a lot quicker now, so the time of being an ITK and it being in the media are a lot shorter nowadays.

We need a ‘snug’ for the more mature gentlemen. Leave the kids in the ‘public bar’ with the jukebox and pool table. Accompanied ladies allowed in the lounge at weekends
