Given the frankly insane amount of money we’ve spent over the past few years, how the hell are we still in a situation where we’re probably going to have to spend another £200 million + this summer to improve?!

We don't go shopping because we need something, we go shopping to feel better.

We are losing Aguero. We need to replace him with a striker, so that is 100 million right there. We only bought in Dias and Ake last summer but we also replaced Otamendi and Kompany.

This is why Txiki is not as good as is being made out to be. You dont see other clubs spending hunderds of millions every single summer almost.

Our scouting is just lazy.

Butt look at what we have had to replace:

Zabba
Vinny
David Silva
Kolorov and Clichy
Otomendi
Nasri
Joe Hart

to name but a few

Now we are goint to have replace Sergio and Ferna - of course we are going to have to spend....we cannot possibly replace playersof this calibre without spending.....KDB only has a few years left as well...Mahrez is 29 as well....so again in another 2-3 years alay out on just those 4 replacements is going to have to be significant and thats before you take into account rising market prices

Not sure why anyone is interested in how much we spend...the only ones interested usually are the media and the opposition (one in the same thing at times) that want to somehow belittle what we do/achieve

But we also spend £40m on players like Aké.

Who was injured for most of the year. I remember most of us crying about the fact that we din't sign anyone to replace Kompany and were stuck when Laporte was injured.
We havn't had any injuries with our CB and hence we havn't needed Ake at all. Look at Liverpool, went into the season with a mindset of making it with what they have and their lack of CBs has fucked them over.
