Jack Gaughan and Chris Wheeler wrote about Haaland having a one time release clause of 90 mil if paid in 1 go, was that just misinformation or do we think it's still there?

It has beem denied by Dortmund. And countered with claimed prices they would accept. So, at the reader's discretion really.

I personally think if it were true it would be more talked about, and dortmund would use different language. But i bloody hope it Is true.

I just think that Jack is too well sourced to mess information as important as a release clause up. Also, there has been no update on the release clause situation in his latest article. I feel like if City were misinformed about it last time, he would've most likely addressed that issue in this article. Also City are looking at a total spend of 200 mil pounds and Aston Villa are looking for 100 mil for Grealish, which could only mean one thing ;-)

I could also just be hopeful, because my biggest fear is Dortmund locking up Haaland for another season just so they don't sell him to City.

He can't squeeze them for what they ain't got.

I‘m not sure how it works in the Spanish financial system - which hasn’t heard of the term transparency - but sooner or later you’d think that some of the people who own this 1.2 billion debt mountain might start to put pressure on Barcelona to start exercising some financial prudence that might avoid bankruptcy and ensure they get every penny that they are owed.... talk of buying this player and that is out of the question in their financial state - even if they can offload players they are not in a place to reinvest it in the squad. They are skint and cannot on the basis of their current income service their debts. Laporta’s people are going through the books but I doubt finding money to pay Aguero or give Messi a bumper new contract are at the top of the list of priorities- financial survival is probably key just now.

I think their issue is the amount of commercial income that’s linked to Messi being there.

Of course he’s on ridiculous wages, but you can only assume that’s more than offset by the money he brings in.

Beautiful voices, just beautiful...

Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton...orrrr
Brendan Rodgers and Joey Barton??
On 17th of August 2016, Barton said Rodger's has won nothing. Someone who was winning on 17th August 2016 was Elaine Thompson who won gold in the women's 200m at the 2016 Olympic games.
Elaine Thompson was born in Manchester...Jamaica.
The population of Manchester, Jamaica is 190k.
Jadon Sancho earns 190k a week.
Jadon Sancho wasn't in the latest England squad... and neither was DANNY INGS

He can't squeeze them for what they ain't got.

Sure but per above he brings in 1/3 of their revenue through sponsorship, as well as what he brings on the pitch. He can still get a lot of money out of them and it still works out as a net gain for Barca financially. Losing him is a disaster for Barcelona that they would take many years to recover from.

I desperately want him to join City by the way. He holds all the cards so we'll find out soon what it is he really wants.

Of course if he leaves, Barcelona will say that he chose money and denigrate his legacy. Laporta has already hinted as much in his public comments about the sporting project.

If we are to believe reports, several Spanish clubs received not only tax problems RE state grants but also should not have had those grants in the first place.
The problem for Barca and others is who will subsidize them legally. never mind FFP regs.

Yep that’s my only fear too but if the article is correct we are good to go.

@tolmie's hairdoo what do you think to the article?

Still got a feeling our targets might not be who everyone thinks they are.might be something left field.be suprised if we went for all 3 mentioned.

I wouldn’t be surprised either. City’s data analytics has had a major overhaul this year and, if they have had enough time, may have recommended a couple of new targets to Pep. Though I’m sure Messi and Haaland would be on any list.

The only downside to Laurie is that he is a United fan!

So they've hired an astrophysicist to find a trace of that Mahrez pen...

Don't know how much the partnership is worth, but they are partners with 1xbet........no betting companies allowed any deals with la liga clubs as of the end of this season.

if there isn't a release clause, I'm hoping Man City pay the fee needed to get the deal done and Dortmund cooperate with the negotiations. We've already announced to the world that we will buy either of Haaland or Kane next summer and if we don't get Haaland, Levy will loot us left, right and centre for Kane. Kane has 3 years on his contract and there is no need for Levy to sell so I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I would much rather hope City wait one more year for Haaland's clause to kick in and just play one year with Jesus as the front man.

Hopefully our catching up with Pool will not involve burning out existing players.

The article is correct. But they missed out Messi!

He's always been a separate deal, though.

*correction - looked at your conversation - with regards a £90m buyout up front this summer - no firm knowledge of that.
