The bigger question regarding Sterling for me is does he still fit in regards to what we face each week in terms of how the opposition face up against us

It's few and far between that our games our played with the opposition being open - only a select few teams will do that as they have the ability to do so

Because of this it leaves Sterling looking like a frustrated player out on the sidelines, because he doesn't have that natural ability to beat a player or players with skill, as he solely relies on pace in order to get past and to the by-line

I have been an ardent supporter of his, and he has served us very well indeed. When we were not faced with this tactic to this extent he was ripping it up week in, week out.

Some people have said that bringing in a player like Kane or Haaland will make Sterling shine again, but I don't think it will have the slightest effect on how the opposition will still double team him at every opportunity or him being able to somehow find the ability to take on 1 or 2 players with success, instead of currently just running into them.

I think there just comes a time when a player needs to possibly move on because it isnt working

The best present would be to see him re-sign and then go on and replicate his best form

I just have my doubts

It was not long ago that Sterling was ripping up the Champions League.

Jesus is not for me, like the lad very much, always gives his all, but there are times when he looks very ordinary, great squad player, but I would imagine he wants and needs to be playing regularly and to be the main man.

sterling jesus are not strikers and have to work on that part of the game because it does not come naturally to them
pep very rarely plays wingers and uses the wingbacks for that. sterling looks like he is wanting out the body language is not right the smile on his face has gone ?

city need strikers and move a couple of wingers out of the squad for kane and haaland would be right

To be fair he may well want to leave.

He did not make the grade at Chelsea, left went to Bournemouth and became the backbone of their team.

He wanted another chance at the big time and moved to us, injuries have not helped but there is no way in my opinion he is going to get in front of Laporte, Dias or Stones.

He could be part of the Kane deal, a move to a big club, regular football and maintain his wages and international spot for Holland, I could understand the attraction of that for him.
I don’t think he will. Injuries are the reason he has not played more. Every game he has played he seems sure of himself and did a good job imo. No player we ever buy leave after a year especially spending 40mill for him.. laporte will leave before ake

I've thought for a while that Grealish would replace Bernardo Silva if it were to happen. You can't sell Sterling for Grealish because you lose so much pace up top.

I think Grealish has the ability to play as #8 or on the left hand side of our front three. Sterling is just not the guy who he replaces. The squad would be one paced.
Grealish can certainly shift
