Why?

Felix isn't worth the fee they'd demand. That's the basic problem, he's not worth whatever Atletico would demand for him.

Also why do we want him? We're not going to buy him + Kane/Haaland, and he's not the out and out striker we seem to want.
We don’t know what fee they would demand.

The bottom line is, Bernardo for Saul is stupid business

Not keen on a player swap, if Athletico want him then they can raise fund by offloading their players to other clubs.

They paid a stupid £120m for him, he was not worth that much. if Atletico hypothetically were to sell him they would demand £100m which he is still not worthy of

Absolute nonsense, "Stupid business" come on.

City operate in a way that effectively means, you can go if you want to, bring X to the table and we will shake hands.

Bernardo is lost in next seasons potential system with a new forward, behind Mahrez out wide and inevitably KDB when he moves back to midfield.

I'd wager that City and Pep both fancy Saul as a proposition, can play well as a box to box midfielder, and has also gone on record saying he will sacrifice himself for the team and play multiple positions if required - fits the profile.

But stupid business ? A potential swap deal for a player who no longer wants to be here ? And could be lost in next seasons setup ? Bernardo is well loved but that is a silly comment.

It is stupid business. Atletico fans would be over the moon — he hasn’t been dedicated to the team, delivering plenty of mediocre performances, not starting in many games. I am not going to applaud this deal if it were to happen just because it’s our club making it. If they want to give us money and Saul, well, I’ll judge the deal based on the number. But a straight swap is unthinkable — Bernardo is worth more money, simple as that

Don't get me wrong I love Bernardo and I appreciate that there is a lot more to his game than his G/A stats and he does a lot for the team.

However, Im not entirely sure that other teams will perceive his value to be so high when he's scored 5 goals and got 9 assists in 45 games this season.

And ultimately, his 18/19 form is not coming back in our current set up, it caters better for someone like Grealish.

Absolutely gutted about Bernardo, I think we will see him rise to the top playing regular in a position that suits him. I would keep am eye on PSG. I think it's possible he will end up in Paris.

Seems like the situation is this:

Realistically, if Atletico want Bernardo, they need to find a buyer for Saul. Could be us, could be Bayern, Chelsea etc. If we sell Bernardo, we'll probably buy Grealish.

Have you checked Saul’s assists for the season? Or seen him lately?

If CFC's 'interest' in Haaland is real, then they have huge monies to throw around. I was half-thinking they might be quiet given that they spent £0.2 B last Summer. Difficult as usual to distinguish between fact and fiction in newspaper reports.

New manager, new requests. Can imagine Tuchel has earned the right to say 'look at what I did with Werner, give me Haaland and watch what I can do'...
