Even if a club was willing to pay 80m for Sterling which I highly doubt, no one else is going to pay his £300k per week wages. The only way he leaves City is if he runs his contract down IMO.
We the ’fans’ tend to downplay the prices quoted for our star players. Sterling’s form has hit the buffers but it could be an anomaly rather than the norm.He has won a ton of trophies and is an international.

£100+ covid and form.
£80m now I can see clubs thinking he could be sold for over £100 down the line?

It is stupid business. Atletico fans would be over the moon — he hasn’t been dedicated to the team, delivering plenty of mediocre performances, not starting in many games. I am not going to applaud this deal if it were to happen just because it’s our club making it. If they want to give us money and Saul, well, I’ll judge the deal based on the number. But a straight swap is unthinkable — Bernardo is worth more money, simple as that

Basically you think it's stupid business because you don't rate Saul.

Sorry, but that means fuck all. If Pep likes him and thinks he's good enough that's all that matters.

Also no one said it would be a straight swap. Could be Saul + €€€ for Bernardo.

Not really realistic though is it?

Hi guys, our player really wants out, we bought him for £45m, he's worth more now....can we have that kid you spent £120m on?
Bernie is worth at least £70-80. Felix has hardly set the world on fire at atletico since his big move. They would be getting a fantastic player who will get back to high standards. The racist thing had a huge impact.

The stupid business, in case it wasn’t clear the first, second or third time, is the straight swap. If money is involved, LIKE I SAID IN THE POST YOU QUOTED, it COULD be a different story.

Also, sorry, but I have a brain of my own. Pep can like a player and I can still have an opinion about said player based on my observations. For instance, let’s hypothetically pretend those Sergi Roberto stories were true— do I have to suddenly ignore everything my eye has seen because “Pep rates him”?

No one has said a straight swap.

You are just inventing a scenario and then getting angry about it.

And yeah, sure, have your own opinion but don't pretend like it fucking matters. The only thing that matters is if Pep likes a player and he's got very few wrong in 5 years at the club.

If Pep deciding he wants a player isnt enough for a City fan to be OK with it at this point, you're a child, more concerned with stats and reputations than the thing that matters - Guardiola thinking they will improve the team.
