ings is a good finisher I’ll give him that some of the goals in the 2019/20 season were brilliant finishes. He’s also insane at pressing defences. But how much our players are roughed about and his glass knees. It’s hard to get on the train haha
 
So funny this place at times, so today’s meltdown brigade are off, whereas in reality Messi was never leaving Barca, a random Villa fan says Grealish isn’t moving so some jump on that & the worst case scenario Ings is now the only player we are signing.

I agree, my point wasn’t that the ‘sheikh’ was going to personally stump up £150M, it was a response to a poster who said that the sheikh would want a return (by way of resale value) from the purchase.
I responded in like language to observe that wining trophies (and the media value of such trophies) might be return enough for the Sheikh [or MCFC / CFG in our parlance]

I should add that I don’t think we’d pay £150M for any player.
We’ll maybe break our record purchase fee and spend say £80M + add-ons to the tune of another £5M or £10M commensurate with said player playing x often, scoring x goals, winning x number major honours et al?

Fair enough fella, I didn’t know the context.

I think resale value is probably factored in when we buy younger players like Torres so that if they don’t reach the level we thought they were going to, we could cash in lucratively on that investment.

Khaldoon said that we may be looking to buy some slightly older players in his end of year interview last season. Kane certainly fits that and he doesn’t need to prove resale value as we’d be assuming he would be with us until he hangs up his boots or he becomes surplus to requirements.

Whatever we decide, I’ll back our recruitment team as they have so much credit in the bank. They don’t make many mistakes anymore.

adding a Kane/Haaland lays down a mark saying we are not going to just sit back and let our rivals strengthen. We can get better to.

Anyone worried about Kane's injury record is going to be shocked by Aguero's. Don't be worried about his age. The club plan long term. We get 5 years of him banging in goals then he teaches english to the young Portuguese lads at the CFA.

Imagine all those Portuguese youngsters overusing the obviously and having difficulty in pronouncing it too. It certainly makes you salivate.

No, they aren’t in debt like most clubs and then’ll want at least £100m for him this summer to actually move. Or so the man says. Usually accurate tbf to him.

edit: massive by villas standards. They’re not in the market to sell.

very few people involved know what Villa will do with Grealish, same with players for other clubs. The fact someone may have guessed correctly before doesn’t make them reliable.

Few get insider info, way too pretenders. Enjoy the ride don’t take any of the transfer gossip serious.

Never said I was reliable. Believe what you want to. I trust the guys judgement with the club like id trust my own if we were talking in similar circumstances. Simple as. I think he’s got a better read on the situation than a bunch of fans from every club linked to him.

They just came up two years ago with good owners, no debt, looking to spend, with ambition, some history, and no need to sell. Why would you even consider it after this trajectory????

Not that I care at all but it’s a little pretentious to assume that they would.
