"People see me as..." as if it backs up your point? If you're happy with what you're doing then just carry on without trying to justify it or keep pointing it out.
Because those were conceptual battles we had here in the past few months. People argued for things that clearly didn’t pass the smell test and when they saw their points didn’t stand, they made it personal and turned me into some kind of villain. Go back and read the exchanges and see how they played out. I’m not backing up my point — I’m just wondering, where are they now? I won’t be shocked if given a few days they come back with the same cliches.

To be fair it was mainly the bottom paragraph. I agree that more youth need to be promoted, because we’ve lacked desire but I don’t think we’re close to a perfect squad and we’ve been pretty patient for ages.
We badly lack athleticism and we play a style that requires it. If this is not fixed I think it will really start to show in the next 2 years.

I agree with point one, we badly lack athleticism, and point three, it will [increasingly] show, but not with point two. Our current system does not require great athleticism; instead, it prioritizes technique and possession.

I don`t think we`ll need lots of changes. If we had Haaland or Kane this season we would have won the quadruple. The striker position naturally remains the highest priority, and a backup/challenger to Zinchenko on the LB would be great, but offloading Mendy would be difficult. Any other incomings would depend on any other player leaving. I could potentially see Ake leaving, would love to see us bring back Tosin or give THB a chance as the fourth choice CB, but that`s probably very unrealistic

The front line needs refreshing, and we will definitely be bringing in a much needed world class CF. The false 9 worked well in the longevity of the league but you could see last night we lacked a true CF to occupy their back line.

Then we are led to believe that some players may be looking to leave, as per Pep's interview stated.

Think the time right now could be for sterling to be sold - his form this season does not warrant the wage hike he wants. The same old habits are still also relevant as he cannot beat his opposite marker. If we do sell Sterling or one of the other wide players (mahrez or bernardo) then I would be happy if we got grealish in

Going to be an interesting summer transfer market this year

If we can get a buyer for him ?

If we can get a buyer for him ?
Yep of course...thats what a lot of this supposed changing of the players will rely upon. We obviously have the funds already for the CF signing and possibly one other - but if what Pep says rings true and there are a few that are looking elsewhere to which he says he will sit down with and they can decide to stay or go, then yes those other signings are going to be based on selling first

To me its no coincidence that jesus & sterlings games have gone backwards alarmingly from other seasons ,is that down to lack of confidence knowing pg prefers to play midfielders at the moment ?
Will new forwards want reassurances of game time knowing how pg likes to tinker.
Just asking ?

Which is why sterling is struggling as both those attributes are not strong points of his, hence possession lost and on back foot.
Iys why I think grealish would be an upgrade.

i keep hearing that Sterling may be sold or will move , I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed

There are probably only a handful of clubs that could afford the fee and his wages and I don’t see any doing it this summer

hes not going to be seen as taking a step down and we won’t sell him on the cheap

He’d certainly be an upgrade if we continue to play such a system, but if we went back to a more expansive system, then Sterling would arguably be better.

The signings made this summer will dictate the direction of travel.

As pissed off as I still am with Pep, I'm fully prepared for us backing him the entire way this transfer window.

Sell Kev, buy Fred, play in hot pink denim short shorts, whatever he thinks is best.

He's had everything pretty cushty since he's been here but I want us to back him to the point of him feeling like he can be as ruthless as he wants.

Maybe it will stop him shitting the bed on big European nights.

If Rodri does not play in a game like today and is behind a 36-year-old Dino in rotation then Rodri is not the solution. I also would not have extended the contract for Dino. Not because he is not worth it, but just need to move forward and think about the future. We desperately need a quality DM , a real engine in the midfield.
Rodri will not be sold and there is no point to keep 3 DM in the squad. We must find a successor to Fernandinho this summer in my opinion. In addition, left-back, winger and a striker.

Rodri tends to look neat and tidy and does most things well but he never takes a game by the scruff of the neck. Technically good but I never think he’s the complete answer... maybe replacing Fern like for like isn’t possible and a wider tweak is required.

His contract situation means we may have to move him on for a reasonable price

that could apply to most of our players, a failure to take a game by the scruff of the neck.

Something we need to address.

Not sure where to put this so I’ll just bang it here. The source mentions Real in his Twitter bio.

Just putting this point out there, everything I'm reading and hearing is that its the likes of Harry Kane who will cost a fortune.

Do we not have scouts that can find great players for a fraction of the price?

Buying big will just confirm all the criticism of the club and Pep that we just buy success?
