Like you said in the podcast however.....Messi is the unknown...I too could see us sticking with the false 9 approach IF (and its a big IF) Messi does decide to leave Barca (as he is only coming here if he does leave).....messi easily scores 20 a season in the prem league (and thats an understatement)

Messi has gone quiet with Barca as well, they have given him the offer and heard nothing back. He’s concentrating on Argentina

Morgan Rogers on loan at Lincoln has had a good season left sided player only 19 come this July maybe he can come back for preseason put some pressure on Sterling! Always love to see our youth players pushing the first team players..

Rogers has done well,he looks better than league one level.

He is no where near Prem standard yet though,needs a Championship loan.

There will be plenty of others in contention for that left sided berth.

That's a new one, he is top class and I could understand totally if he is pissed he can't get into the 11, is that bad attitude?

It is if you go public....lots of players in our quad dont play every game.....very few complain in the press about it like Laporte did

On Laporte, @city_tactics had a very interest thread on what went wrong. In summary our full backs were sucked into pressing Chelsea’s wing backs and left Stones and Dias. It worked for Chelsea so expect a few copycats next season.

The suggestion to counteract it was to go 3 at the back. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pep tries that against Chelsea next season. If that’s the case Laporte would play a lot more.

I really hope we don’t sell him this summer as we won’t get a decent price and we’ll get mugged on any replacement.

Think Ake to Spurs as part of a Kane deal feels more realistic than selling Laporte. Because I don't see where Madrid or anyone else gets the money from. Heard in Porto from someone who would know that City value him at upwards of 75 million pounds.

Totally agree, Barca, Real would love Laporte , but don't have cash or players we would want.

Palmer was in with the Blues at the river in Porto. Top lad. Hope he makes it at City.

Palmer to me looks better than Delap.....Palmer looks a real Pep player from the clips ive seen.....glides past people effrotlessly, good in the spaces etc....but as we know the step up to first team is huge....Im guessing that if Pep sees anything in him he will take a part in pre season and then we will go from there...if Pep refuses to laon him out etc then he is potentially on the same track as Foden

Ive not seen enough of him however to know if he is able/ready to make that step up

Might just be alone on this but good god we miss pace in this team. Chelsea aren't special, but they make it work because of extra ordinary pace up front. I miss having Sané, him and Sterling hugging the touchline both flanks while El Mago and KDB control the tempo.

Are you telling me that with about 30 days left on his contract he isnt at least considering what is going to happen with his contract (whether he renews or not?) - of course he is regardless of Argentina.....what happens with who he plays with (either Barca or us) has a much bigger effect on his life than playing for Argentina....dont believe the rhetoric......Messi will be fully focussed on what he is going to do next club wise over the next month...he has to be

Dinho should have started for several reasons,clearly number one being he deserved to and we would have played much better had he done so.Secondly his service to our cause over the years earnt him the privilege.

Agree but people are forgetting Ake is a decent centre half as well.....
