if it had to happen and it had to be felix then straight swap surely? Felix is younger but bernardo is currently the better player?
I’m not sure we would replace one with the other. Surely if it was a swap it would mean we needed another central midfielder as well. As for a straight swap, can’t imagine AM writing that much off on Felix.

Ok moody, so - again - my point is that if your interpretation is correct, I don't think he will sell Kane to City. It's only good for Spurs at a price point that City won't touch.

I agree with that and that may well prove to be the case.

However, I also hold to my view that Levy knows exactly what he’s doing and if he does sell Kane it will not be adverse to his forward career in any part because his decision will be driven by a sound business case.

PS. And sorry if I came across as a tad grumpy, it’s just that I’m a bit of a miserable tw@t ;-D

He’s played in 45 games this season and started 39 of those, not how much more game time any player can really expect.

I didn’t start the Bernardo to AM rumours but they suggest that Bernardo wants to be more central to the team he plays for, that he’d like to play in Spain and that AM are keen to have him.
I hope it’s bollox but it’s no secret that he gets more game time when KDB’s injured.
He’s the bloke who steps in when someone else isn’t fit enough to play, and he knows that.
It’s an important role, someone needs to do it and whether it actually bothers him is another matter

Currently, yes, but I think Felix potentially in the right team, which Atletico aren't, then he can be one of the best in the world.

Its the main reason he has been incorrectly labelled inconsistent and been accused of struggling for form.Had he been used 'properly' then we would have seen a far steadier and effective player. Its a shame that he's a victim of our system and our quality,as in the right team he would be dynamite.

no it's been widely reported that he really liked mourinho and the way he was "treated" is one of the reasons he wants to leave

Yes, Mourinho at least had the mentality of a winner. Apparently the whole experience demonstrated to Kane that he's not surrounded by people with the same mentality.

Looking at it that way, it's not the manager that's the issue - it's the players and their characters. Conte obviously has a winning mentality like Mourinho had/has so how will the players react?

I guess it's down to the style of man management...

Quite surprised at how many people would swap Bernardo for Joao Felix or Jack Grealish.

Personally I'd be saying not to both those deals because Grealish won't ever be as good as Bernardo, and Felix for all his grace and talent feels like a luxury player with no real defined position.

Bernardo is our Swiss army knife. Can play almost anywhere and be world class.

have only watched Felix half dozen times, what I see is a player who like floats over found his touch is up there with the best his passing could improve a touch but alas we ain’t buying him or swapping him for any of our players..

No need to swap, when you can buy if Tottenham refuse to budge under Conte (if he joins). Possibly the best false 9 option we could possibly aim for, should that system continue

I love Bernardo as a personality, but he's not been world class anywhere but KDB's position really.

He's had some great games as an extra man in the strikerless formation, but he's also had some absolutely anonymous ones. He's going to be immediately benched by Kane/Haaland and then where is he getting back in the side? Ahead of Mahrez/Sterling/Jesus/Torres on the right wing? Not often. Ahead of KDB? Only if he's injured.

I hope he stays, I hope he finds a position, because currently he's drifting, no better than he was when we signed him at 23. I thought when we signed him he could be one of the best players in the world. I remember Pol Ballus saying Pep thought he could be Messi without the goals on your podcast. He's not been anywhere near that unfortunately outside of the winter of 2018.

Having said that Grealish I don't see being much different, except he'd be competing with Gundogan on the left side of midfield and maybe that's more attainable. Felix is a proper false 9 so he would offer something new to the squad, but he's obviously far too expensive so it's a non starter.
