I would be the opposite of excited
I was of the opinion I didn’t want either. Think I’ve changed my mind.

all other things being equal, if we don’t sign a striker this summer it’s a disgrace and whilst we got away with it this year can’t see it next year.

my issue with grealish, not just the cost and that I think he is slightly overrated is that I actually think centre midfield more important. Fernandinho is not to be relied on for a full season at his age and Rodri is just not up to it.

Let's just say we have some people inside the CFG who know fuck all about football and how it actually works.

The club actually likes to employ people who don't support City or don't have a real passion for football as such.

I have a couple of contacts within it and their bullishness is welcome, but we all know how things can get fubar.
Mate, think that’s the first post of yours I’ve ever read which contradicts the previous and covers every base out.

Just seen Harrison has been gone to Leeds....did we get any money for him or was a free agent?

I've had so many arguments defending Jesus over the last 18 months and he's one of my favourites City players but for some reason the further we get from the season the more OK I am with him leaving.

I really think he could be a world class player elsewhere, but 5 years in, it's not happening here because Pep would rather play a midfielder ahead of him.

I think it might be mutually beneficial to get swap him for someone that Pep would actually use if the number 1 striker was out, or a genuine false 9.

For what it is worth, you've done a damn good job defending him and highlighting his qualities.

I say that with zero sarcasm, and as someone who has at times disagreed and come to very much see it so.

Something big really has been kicking off these last few days.

Have friends at CFG who state the club has done its business.

That's a very bold statement and one which excites and worries me in equal measure.
If this is true does this eliminate any hope of Haaland. Surely if we had signed Haaland it would be all over the news and would have no reason to be kept quiet as Haaland isn’t focusing at the euros.

It's so so so bloody quiet, heaven knows when we're going to get moving in this market. Even if we are waiting for the euros to finish, players will then be away on their holidays making deals even more difficult to complete. It could possibly be the start of August before anything starts to happen, hopefully something happens before the Charity shield

I hope your right about Grealish, I honestly do, but I fear he could be a total flop.

I'd be more concerned about Kane.

Graelish, even if he doesn't hit the level expected, plays in a position we are stacked in, a few promising academy ones too.

Kane is coming in to be relied for that position, no room for getting that one wrong. Not at that price, not at his age.

He would be unsellable the minute he signs the contract, on Huge wages for a number of years. People kid themselves that haaland would be on big wages but kane would play for fuck all, they'd both be on big wages, probably over 300k. Even 15-20 league goals a season, imo, is not good enough for what he would be bought for. If he is not delivering season defining numbers and changing games out of nothing, bit of a misplaced investment. Particularly with the risk he won't do it over the length of his contract, he could decline in the last couple seasons.

If this is true does this eliminate any hope of Haaland. Surely if we had signed Haaland it would be all over the news and would have no reason to be kept quiet as Haaland isn’t focusing at the euros.

Things not being in the news, these days, are no indication that things aren't happening, not with this club at this time. Imo.
