It's Quiet Thread 15 - Txiki Blinders

What has become apparent to me over the last two transfer windows is that Blues now fall into two main categories: (a) those who happily embrace commercialism and want success at almost any cost, and (b) those who go along with it so far but baulk at jumping over the precipice.

To put it another way, some rush off to the orgy while others prefer to party with their pants on.

In their different ways, both enjoy winning and both want what they think is best for their club. However, the Messi, Ronaldo and Kane sagas have exposed the tensions big time.

fwiw Pep confirmed he wasn't leaving in 2, said could be 3 months could be 5 years, all depends on performances, which is clear that he isn't set to leave.
Oh ok brilliant. I’m on holiday so didn’t actually see the interview. Well that s made the well a whole lot better

The thing is if a club is in for the greatest player of the last 20 years you go in hard, fast, and get the deal done by using your financial might to get it over the line.
If you’re not in for the greatest player of the last 20 years you make it publicly known the second that your name is mentioned to avoid a situation where he or his advisers can use you to get a deal somewhere else.
We did neither and that along with our whole summer was amateurish and arrogant.

One of the reasons United were the best team in England for twenty years was because at the height of their success they never stood still and admired themselves. They refreshed the squad and strengthened after every title.
It kept the players hungry and kept opposition clubs downbeat. How many times have we complained that teams lost against united before the game kicked off?
City have a habit of winning titles and sitting back on their laurels admiring the trophy.
We have missed yet another trick this summer to stretch our lead over the rest of the country and it could easily come back to bite our arses.

So we're praising the rags on their signings and are afraid of their quality now? They strengthen almost every year, till they have ole at helm I am not worried in the slightest. Despite all additions they play in a very predictable manner. I can guarantee you Ronaldo will score loads but they'll become too dependent on him, just like everywhere he goes.

Personally think City and the agent have played the rags with ronaldos transfer and they have as usual fallen for it. They now have a 36 year old player whose best years are long gone and paying astronomical wages for the privilege. How will they fit in rashford, greenwood or martial and how will all three feel this morning knowing they will be playing second fiddle to Ronaldo. They did not need ronaldo but their stupidity and total paranoia with City made them do this.
Well played us.
