I've got a drink problem.

I'm 17, and my dad is also alcohol dependant unfortunatley. I wish he had the attitude you have. You are bound to succeed with this attitude and your already showing signs of success and certain progress has been made, well done! Keep updating as im interested too see how your going on, hope you continue to make progress and continue to impress us all. Keep up the good work!

All the best mate. I come from a family with alcoholism in it and have seen first hand just how devastating it can be (kids in care/parents in jail etc). If you have a genuine problem then the only way is abstinence 100%, if you were simply drinking 'too much' then a lifestyle change/new friends/hobbies will help. lad to hear you're doing well but if you decide you need help PM me and get yourself to some meetings to see if they're for you.

Well done Kenster ou have one very well, keep in touch on here to let us know how you are getting on.

Not sure why. but I have zero interest in meetings. Read up a bit and seem to be "the book" "way of life" which obviously works, but is not for me.
I'll hopefully carry on falling off and getting back on the wagon until I may at some point I get off altogether.

Lifes better atm, long haul ahead, but it's better. Sober as I write this.... couldn't have said that 4 weeks ago.

I'm going to have one if I keep reading the transfer thread, it's a bastard to say its hard to sort out is an understatment pm me if you want, can only tell you what I went through, I think we all have our own demons on this one.

I'm ashamed to admit I'm quite ignorant when it comes to alcoholism, but I found out today that a boy in the same class as my 9 year old son lost her life this weekend as a result of alcoholism and its really got to me.

For those of you battling, keep strong. No family should have to go through what that family are facing tonight.
