Well he was 17 when he came to England and probably feels at home here. Germany do this too with players born elsewhere like Podolski and Cacau. Razak being English will also be good for us if he stays here - no African Cup of Nations duty, etc.
ACoN is in the summer after this one, this one is the last mid winter one ever

I thought Blatter wanted this to happen in 2016, has it been brought forward and if so can you post a link?

He was younger than 17, he was on Palace's book at 15.

Here we go "international football means nothing" blah, blah, blah.

It may mean nothing to those that are new to football and have recently adopted it as a past time. But for many football fans international football and in particular the World Cup is the biggest stage of all for a professional footballer and the biggest spectacle for a fan.

A national team should consist of players and staff of that particular nation, if you were born here, have been here since you were a little child or have parents/grandparents that are from the nation you have chosen to play for.

It shouldn't be that you have been living in a country for say 5 years and haven't played for your nation of birth, therefore you can be eligible to play for a nation.

I don't care about any other sport, nor do I care about any other nation. I could just about handle a foriegn manager but I see having the top young players from across the globe being eligible to play for England plain wrong.

In the interest of fairness alone it shouldn't be allowed.

I know an Indian that moved here when he was 18 and has lived here ever since he is now 50 odd and considers himself to be English if he believes he is and chooses to be who says he is wrong?

Fucking awful news.

Lets just put City aside for 1 minute. This kid was born in the Ivory Coast, not England, he isn't English!!

This stinks and should this happen it will put an end to my following of the national team, it simply isn't fair.

Playing for England is the biggest honour an English kid will have, this reduces the chances for English kids getting to play for THEIR country.

I am pretty sure that getting a call up from England would also be worth far more than getting a call up for the Ivory Coast with regards contract negotiations, which I am also certain has had an impact on his decsion making.

(if true)

England has allowed Razak a decent life. If it wasn't for being scouted by Crystal Palace he would no doubt still be in Ivory Coast living in poverty, a country, I think, still in a civil war. This is a way Razak can repay England, by representing the national team. Look at Germany's team, half of em' don't have a drop of german blood in them!

is it razak whos team fuked off and left him on his own in scotland? i dont blame him for wanting to play for england if they did that to him plus england need all the good players that they can i reckon put a great player with a great player and they will play better. what if he formed a top class partnership with all the "english" players would we still not want him then?
