So you have to be born in a country to play for them? Should Podolski play for Poland and Hargreaves for Canada (I don't think he stepped foot in England till he was called up for the national team)?

hargreaves parents are welsh and english.

Every case is different and for me, this kid is not english

Razak came as a 15 year old and WANTS to play for England (there's very little financial gain in chosing one country over another), my cousin moved to Australia when she was 13 and considers herself Australian with an Australian passport, is she wrong too?

Im also against foreign managers. I just think national teams should be strictly that nation and not go the same way club football goes.

If he wants to play for England & it's possible for him to do it then he must be eligible to play for England. If that's the case, then he's got as much right as anyone else.

Fucking awful news.

Lets just put City aside for 1 minute. This kid was born in the Ivory Coast, not England, he isn't English!!

This stinks and should this happen it will put an end to my following of the national team, it simply isn't fair.

Playing for England is the biggest honour an English kid will have, this reduces the chances for English kids getting to play for THEIR country.

I am pretty sure that getting a call up from England would also be worth far more than getting a call up for the Ivory Coast with regards contract negotiations, which I am also certain has had an impact on his decsion making.
