So many people have such frail ego's when faced with a popular successful politician - if that politician is a woman then their levels of hurt go off the charts

The only pile on I have seen on female politicians is on Suella Braverman and Priti Patel, both of whom have said appalling things, and displayed levels of inhumanity that are unacceptable to many; Jacinda Ardern is not cut from the same cloth. Her party is tanking in opinion polls and her own rating has never been lower.
Political life is tough, that’s why she is going.
It won’t stop you and others turning this into yet another thread where nasty people are being all misogynistic though.
Meanwhile you and others are happy to pile into other female politicians without even a hint of self awareness.

It is okay for people who act in an inhumane and uncaring manner to be criticised for their behaviour. It’s ok for us to do it but not you……
Not what he is saying, I think the general idea is to criticise in a constructive manner as opposed to acting in exactly the same manner as those one appears to look down upon.It is okay for people who act in an inhumane and uncaring manner to be criticised for their behaviour.
There is no issue with criticism in a constructive manner. There are, however, a group of journalists whose consistent target are women, especially young women in positions of power. If they lean to the left, then they get an especially hard time from those journalists. Here, we have a seemingly honourable politician who is now the target, and has been the target, of those same journalists, and others. Not what he is saying, I think the general idea is to criticise in a constructive manner as opposed to acting in exactly the same manner as those one appears to look down upon.
Now you could say but they deserve it and miss the whole point by some margin. Unless people think that they are the oracle of right and wrong and everyone should follow and accept their views on everything.
There is a name for that I think:-)
