Bitterly disappointed in this. We'll probably go out and spend £40,000,000 on the midfield version of Mangala.
I know people are desperate for someone to break through, but he isn't ready. You'll have to get used to Championship and lower PL clubs buying most of our youngsters as happens at the rags
That happens at City already mate so you are telling us nothing new. We are still disappointed.
Did you see Denis Suarez scoring for Barca the other night. Is that what we should get used to?
Come on mate, City can't stand in the lad's way if Barcelona come calling.
Byrne is a totally different story and, that it's Wigan, should tell you he was some time away from being ready. He obviously was ok with the move and he was blocked from the first team for the foreseeable, so fair enough.
Trippier had Zaba and a then fit and in-form Richards ahead of him in the RB slot at the time and he wanted a decent amount of first-team football and wasn't prepared to wait, which was his right but don't go blaming City for his departure. Are you also comfortable with Kieran Trippier being at Spurs when he could have. Even our back up right back. We need to aim higher.
Denis Suarez didn't want to be here, Kieran Trippier left in the Summer of 2011 and took 4 years before he turned up at Spuds. He's played a total of 10 times this season (just 3 in the PL for a total of 101 minutes). The whole of last season he played 19 times (just 6 in the PL).So are you comfortable with it being ten years since we had homegrown lads get a decent run in the first team. That's Richards and arguably Sturbridge (who really didn't get much of a chance).

You'll know the answer to this. Is he better than some of those in the U18 range or Garcia ?. If he's not then maybe it makes sense to clear room for some of them to come through.Actually gutted about this. Really, really like Jack. Very intelligent and impressive footballer. Honestly feel he could have been useful as a backup this season if we'd given him a go in preseason, but oh well. He needs a permanent move as someone like him is easy to drop on loan - they always drop the young loanee who plays in AM.
He'll make it back to the Premier League before long. I'm certain.
It's not a "pretty poor effort" IMO, you need to understand that now youngsters at City need to be potential CL quality to get near the first team squad. Pre-takeover the odds of an Academy youngster making it at City were slim and even then we were one of the better academies. The bar has been raised significantly since the takeover and it's getting even harder for youngsters to graduate to a first team spot. We do seem to have some great prospects in the current U16/U18 teams so fingers crossed a few of them will make it.Unless I’m mistaken, the only Academy players to make a league appearance in the past 4 seasons are Pozo (who was nowhere near ready and played out of position), Manu Garcia (a brief sub appearance), Celina (a brief sub appearance) and Aleix Garcia (a couple of brief sub appearances). I don’t count Iheanacho as he was signed when he was 18 and only with the EDS for a short time. It’s a pretty poor effort really.
