It still does which is sad in this day and age. You got Irish players ruling out a move to Rangers for whatever reason. Some do play for Rangers but those players are few and far between. Only recently has any Republic Of Ireland players have played for Rangers in Jon Daly he got capped at under age level. Also in the current squad is Rob Kiernan who like Daly played under age football for Ireland. Also Alan Judge who has played for the senior Irish team was asked if he would be interested in teaming up with Rangers boss and he stated he would be killed if he went to play for Rangers by his mates. So for any Irish man to play up there you would need balls of steel for Rangers. As they would be slated by all there friends and family it seems.
Less so these days. But he would be better off playing for Celtic.

Jack Byrne already in Manchester seemingly, how can he be back already?

Training in Ireland, if you follow the @ trail. But thrilled to see he's just going straight back into it.

I try to guard my hopes & expectations for youth prospects, but it's difficult for me on this one. Really feel like Jack is determined to get where he's going.

Fantastic news he's not going to be working with those gobshite fucking morons & will be working with Pep Guardiola instead.

Apart from the big money stars, half the players who go to the euros, of any age, are putting their City careers in the balance imo. If Pep finds someone to do the job he wants, who he's really happy with, that player will start. Be great if Denayer didn't go & Sterling picked up a niggle.

Jack's got it spot on here. Work hard, show the boss what you can do. Good luck to him.

I think his chances have gone up 100% not being hijacked by those clueless tossers.

me too mate from the moment i saw him play i thought he had an eye for a pass and control aggression,

i had the feeling he would make it that i never really got with say an angelino or barker

time will tell, its getting harder and harder because where we want to go, the players have to be the very best just to get a good run of games

Spurs had the exact same predicament before Poch came along... there are maybe 3/4 within that squad who could quite easily be playing in the lower leagues if it wasn't for him, Kane included. There will be the same sort of impact here, a coach who can elevate players and have us all wondering 'where the fuck did he come from'..... Byrne's attitude here is great, i'd love it if he was one of them!!!!
