Jack Grealish

I'm ignoring such daft comments now.

Listen to his teammates, managers,ex players,pundits......to a man they rate him as one of the most talented players of his generation. He is almost impossible to knock off the ball,he rarely wastes posession, his vision and anticipation is fantastic and he can play with either foot.

He hasnt done himself any favours off the pitch, but thats no reason to make shit up or refuse to acknowledge his ability.

Mahrez is the obvious chooice, but id lose Sterling for his services too.
So would I. That said it's not a forgone conclusion that Grealish would be better than Sterling for us. Maybe his highs wouldn't be as high or his dips would last longer? So I'd prefer to keep Sterling and sign Grealish.

I've lost all faith in Mahrez and for too long so even if he left without a similar player come in I'd be happy. At least we'd have Torres to play more and give the kids a go sooner than otherwise planned. I wish Mahrez the best wherever he goes (within reason) as he seems a lovely guy but he's just not "value-add" for us unfortunately.

This is less true of Grealish than it is of Sterling. People also said the exact same about Mahrez.

If there is an opportunity to improve then surely we need to be taking it.The flip side is we prevent another club doing such.
We simply can't buy every player that fits this criteria though.
There are lots of players that would improve City, or any other PL side.
Messi, Haaland, Alaba, Ramos, Sancho, Mbappé, Donnarumma, Depay, Camavinga...
These will all probably be on the move this summer, and all would improve any PL team.
No one is saying Grealish isn't good enough to improve us but whether it should be considered a priority.

Nowhere near good enough. Who would you swap for him?
It’s honestly laughable to say Grealish is nowhere near good enough. His problem is he plays for Aston Villa so people think it’s not possible to be borderline world class at that club. I think we unfortunately have to pass on him though, as striker, left back and defensive midfielder are the priorities. But whichever club he joins are going to have a superstar. His chance creation stats are off the charts, his ball retention is as good as anyone at City if not better, his dribbling is exceptional. The timing is just not right though for City to be his next club.

Our only priorities are a striker, left back and a defensive midfielder - All replacements for what we have here at the minute.

A position we can significantly upgrade is the same one Grealish plays,he'd improve us considerably for years to come,he fits like a glove.

I think Pep fancies him.

His problem is he's the big man at Villa, who would you swap for him?
