Beckham and Gascoigne weren't on Kaka/Zidane/Messi levels. They were still superstars.

Beckham was marketable cos of looks and some great free kicks thrown in. Of course playing for United helps (media inflation).

No one at City becomes marketable like that because of constant media slander. Thats plays huge part.
