Jack Grealish

But Kane + Grealish post Covid. FFP, what FFP?
Because when you spend £200m and take in £100m in fees, you actually make a profit on the books that season as the £200m is amortised over the length of the contract and the £100m is booked in one season.

Our turnover is also 2-3 times that of Villa’s.

I can actually see ADUG creating a priority CFG club to compete in the Super League once it’s established, based in a part of the world that can attract the absolute elite calibre of players we’ve struggled to get hold of. New York City could be the one, or even the UAE, as I imagine it’s going to be a global competition with the big North, South and Central American clubs involved for exposure and prestige.

It must be a kick in the bollocks for them to be unable to attract the likes of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe to the club on geographical grounds despite having the financial capacity to pay whatever it takes - especially when they instead opt for the Qatari platform in Paris instead.

This myth Manchester is a reason players don't come here or leave is as stupid as can be

How many top class players have played for us , the rags and the scousers? And where do most live during those years? Manchester /Leafy cheshire.

A few players every so often don't settle well, that's understandable, when I worked abroad every year we had maybe a dozen seasonal workers get homesick within week(s) and fuck off home.

Not everyone adapts to new places, no matter the place.

Also the it's cold and wet bollocks, it pisses down in france and Paris all the time so that don't seem to bother neymar and mbappe too much and Manchesters average rainfall is less than Barcelonas

He and his entire family are Villa fans. He wants to win titles with Villa
He isn't winning any meaningful titles at Villa in the next 4-5 years. Villa finished in the bottom half of the table this season and after all the hype around it.

To be fair, Mbappe is from Paris...

So doesn't mind rain, and understandable he wants to play in his home.

Still not having where we are is what stops us signing players not with the players we have had in recent times and the players that have played locally.

Someone not settling in a new place is a different matter and if honest is not unusual for many people who move somewhere.

Fucking lol. Jack isn’t the brightest spark but he knows he isn’t winning titles at Villa. He’s already agreed personal terms with City and that’s coming directly from one of your former players who isn’t exactly happy about it.

I just hope you’re still on the forum when the transfer goes through.

I don't dispute that. And I admire any player who stays at a club through club associated loyalty.
However, Grealish has gone on record saying he wants to win a pot with England, and the Chumps league.
It took City with all our extravagant, cheating, dirty oil money spending 10 years just to get to a UCL final.
So, you think Jack from the black Country has already done his mathematics?
He will go to City, who have won 10 trophies in the last 4 years btw, give Villa a 1/10th of a billion windfall, and leave with a clear conscience.
Even Villa fans shouldn't throw a moody at that outcome.

Have you turned your spellchecker facility off this morning? ;)

It's not a myth it's a serious problem.

It is for us and it was for the rags when they were at their peak.

Certain players don't want to live in northern England, some players don't want to live in the English climate.

A lot of continental players would chose living in London than the north , especially if the Southern club was as competitive.

Barcelona rainfall? Are you seriously saying living in a small northern wet city is better than living in Barcelona/ Costa Brava, really?

Can you stop something you never started? Could you, for instance, stop treating Sterling in a fair and balanced way?
Sadly not, I have eyes and as a paying match going fan I’m entitled to to say when someone is underperforming. Granted his stinker of a season I’ve not paid anything for but I can still call it.

He did start it, saying there’s loads of reasons he doesn’t score for City and does for England, can’t see whatever made up reasons he has are positive. Also saying winning something with England will trump anything with city. Even if you think that don’t say it, stay respectful.

Got any examples?

Back in the day Utd struggled to attract real top class foreign players the EPL wasn't as strong compared to the continental leagues.
Also, wages could be matched by a lot of the continental sides. So, the big decision came down to environment. With northern rainy Manchester losing out a lot of the time.
Things are now different. The financial power of the EPL is drawing many top players that would otherwise prefer sunshine.
Many players now see the EPL as a money tree, and a few years in the boggy North will be just swell, thanks to a double your money pay deal on offer.

Which players though? Name one that said I don't like it up north so I am going to ......., I don't recall any player actually saying that as a reason, most players choose a club that are competing at the same level because of first team opportunies, the offer made and present position the club is at.

A clubs stature at any given time and it's competitveness chances of glory is what attracts palyers along with the financial offer and other perks.

I remember players that have come and left quickly because they didn't like it, no harm in that not everyone settles

The people who talk most about the weather and the grimness of the north compared to London are interviewers who asked such daft sterotypical questions.

As for Barca/costa brave, I said it rains more there so rainy manchester tag is bollocks, never said it wasn't a nicer place to live.

You have a major one this summer Bernardo.

We need a striker, the best in the world for me is Mbappe, he simply won't come here for the location.

Culture and climate is a major issue for a lot of players, I have said before, it was incredible that David Silva stayed here for 10 years considering his birth place.

The recent issues with covid has made this a real problem, for a lot of these guys, it can't be much fun stuck in an apartment block in Manchester and unable to get home for a short break to see family and friends like before.

Whilst I don’t disagree with your comments it’s simply your opinion rather than based on anything.

You will always get the odd person unsettled, struggling to adapt or enjoy new surroundings. That’s just life nothing to do with Manchester. Many embrace it and the evidence to suggest otherwise is very slim.
