What are you going on about?

Where in that post did I say he was on messi’ level? I said the amount of ‘how on earth did he do that’ moments he has in terms of dribbling through players/always getting his pass off etc the only other bloke I’ve seen do that so often is Messi.

Of course Messi is on a complete different planet.
Then why mention Messi?

You’re Matt Hancock and I claim my £5.

And people think he isn’t good enough. Not only is he more than good enough, he’ll be one of our standouts, a go-to guy.
Hes definitely good enough, I'm happy that it looks like it could happen but I'd be wary of putting too much credence to those stats considering that Villa play an awful lot of their game through him and he's their focal point of the attack.
What I can't understand is those couple of posters on here who genuinely think he's shit. Even if it's a signing you don't want to make for one reason or another, his ability on the pitch shouldn't be one of them because it makes you look like you've never watched a game of football in your life.

I just don't get those that say he's overrated and don't want him.
Either they haven't watched him properly or football isn't for them.

The lad is outstanding.
football ist for them mate, maybe its simply the fact he's a brummie, how can you get a decent player in Birmingham, maybe change his name to Jaco Grealishchenko to help them accept things

He created the second most chances in the league last season despite being out for four months. Whether the attacks come through him or not that's an outstanding return.

For me, I think he'll play as an #8 on the left if he does join. But with him and Foden they have the ability to interchange and switch. That's what I love about him, he's a very multifunctional player who can play in a range of positions.

If he's as good as he is now, imagine how good he'd be playing with Kev, Foden and Mahrez regularly. That's before Pep irons some of the deficiencies from his game.

Am I the only one who's not arsed about Bernardo leaving? Lovely footballer but does he effect games where it really matters. Not enough for me.
Are you asking does he effect games, or are you actually asking if he scores enough goals? Because his impact on the team is clear as day when he's not playing.

When he was player of the year, he played on the wing almost exclusively, he was tasked with dribbling, getting in the box and creating and he did that every game. People still expect that but he no longer has that role. He's played in the middle for 2 seasons now where his role isn't the same, it's to get the ball into the front players, resist any press, keep things moving, provide an option for a pass and cover defensive holes of which there's a lot when he's in there with Rodri. He does all these things better than anybody else in the squad. If he was to leave it wouldn't take very long for it to become very noticeable.

Bit of a contradiction in that post. Bernardo is at City and playing nearly every week because he's good enough to be in this squad/team. I don't want us to lose Bernardo unless he wants to go then we obviously need to look for a replacement, But we will 100% miss Bernardo Silva, His intensity and pressing and his capabilities to keep possession of the ball when we are ahead in games on top of being an unbelievable footballer.
Numerous games throughout the last few seasons he has been the one taking games by the scruff of the neck and showing the way especially when KDB was out that's when Bernardo showed huge balls dictating games. That game against Liverpool at home was one of the best individual displays I have ever seen live. Bernardo has contributed hugely to us being successful along with the players around him.
Agree totally. I’ve always loved seeing Bernardo play & would be gutted if he left. I just meant - in reply to the other poster - that whilst Grealish has won nothing, he hadn’t yet had the pleasure of playing in a City team

Honesty if you have a spare 10 mins just sit back and watch this. Not even exaggerating there is only one person I could watch who leaves me with that many ‘how did he just do that’ and that’s Messi.

His close control is super human like, he’s got the lot, eye for a pass, decent enough pace, top drawer strength, great finishing. The boy is a superstar and within a few weeks he’d have every doubter drooling over him.

So hope we get this over the line

Rick Holden. With an undercut.

You compared him to Messi's level of dribbling (or next behind him) which quite frankly is laughable

What about the following:

Ronaldo
Bernardo Silva
Foden
David Silva - best close control Ive ever seen in person along with Mahrez
Mbappe ( who also plays from the left)
Mahrez
Neyamr
Di Maria
Eden Hazard

And thats without even thinking about it
