Jack Grealish

Even if they had a gentleman's agreement/informal clause and not an iron clad contractual one, Villa's new owners aren't going to throw away all their good will they've built up since coming in over £15m or so.

Grealish is the club captain who stuck with his boyhood club through a terrible period in their history and lead them back to the PL and the good times. The Villa fans adore him for sticking with them when they went down.

If the club turn around and say we're not honouring a gentleman's agreement of £80m, the fans aren't going to side with the owners, they're going to say "fair enough he stuck by us, now it's time to let him go and book an enormous fee at the same time".
Most of that applies to about Harry Kane as well.
City rescuing club captains since 2021 :)

I feel it was why Grealish was out “injured” for so long because he was pissed of with club not fulfilling his contract buyout of 60m! Thing is his agent should know that a buyout in the uk isn’t enforceable!
I don't believe that but if it was true then fcuk Grealish.
I hate it when players down tools when they don't get their own way.

What planet is Agbonlahor on

"If Jack leaves nobody at Villa will hold it against him... when Gareth Barry left nobody at Villa held it against him"

The Mahrez bit at the end is interesting...have you been told that as well, or is that just from the writers of caughtoffside?
No. Only about Grealish and from you know who (who I presume still has contacts at Villa).

Having said that, I did say (when the season ended) that Sterling’s team had put the feelers out in Spain to see if there was still any interest. That’s from a current player slash pundit.

fwiw, in two weeks I’ll no longer have anyone to find out the odd bit of gossip from as I won’t be in Qatar and I’m deffo not ITK.
